I’ve not yet had my surgery but I am incredibly stressed and worried of how I am going to look after my 19 month old son. My partner will be taking some time off for the first few days but still, my son is very cuddly and gets very upset if I can’t pick him up and carry him around. Anyone else in my position?

Are you having unders or overs?
I’ve 2dpo with unders, my son has been staying at my sister’s but coming back tonight. I don’t feel like i’d be ready anytime soon for hugs, and definitely wouldn’t feel able to lift and carry anything. Plus you can’t move your arms too much so as to not disrupt the incisions.
Overs are less intrusive though, so it would depend xxx

Hi Charlotte I was in the same position but not with a child as young as you mine are 5 and 10 so I could explain to them abit. But it will be hard you won’t b able to pick your son up for the first few days I suggest you could just show him your bandages and explain you have a badie ( baby terms lol ) and maybe he will be abit cautious of it, but don’t worry to much as everything will slot into place and you will have your partner to help you x

Yes me too. My son is 15m old and i have my surgery next week im having 450cc unders. My partner is also taking time off. It was a question i too asked a while back. Many ladies said they were fine and even coped on their own. I made sure i did it for wheb the Easter holidays were so i could basically do less with sorting school bits out and also have help from my daughter who is 12. Food prep is a must and keep items in cupboards lower so you dont have to lift your arms up. Cuddling is fine just try not to use your chest muscles too much x x

I have a 19 month old and had surgery 6 weeks ago, and have a 13yr old, 10yr old and 7yr old, who has special needs. My partner was off for the 1st week you find ways to manage. I lifted him with my knee so we could have cuddles, and used a pillow in between us when he was layed next to/on me. Take all the help you can get. But after a week I was ok, apart from I could not push the pram for another week
