Am I just panicking ??

So I had my surgery one week ago today ! The first 3 days pain wise was horrible, after the pain settled things started to get easier etc, but a few things are driving me mad ! First of all I was 9st 4 the day before surgery, after surgery at the hospital I weighed myself (im a fitness freak) and I was 10st 2 !! Today one week later I’m 9st 12 …. is this sudden weight gain normal ? I feel fat bloated and horrible so I’m guessing this is making me feel low overall about how I’m looking with my new boobs ! Then there is my 2nd problem …. my right breast seems to be my problem one as I’ve had more pain from this breast and it seems a lot more swollen / hard / stiff compared to my left, looking at them today I’d say my right visually looks at least a cup size bigger than my left ! Am I worrying over nothing ? Please help ! I’m 5’2 and had 350 hp overs Xxx

Hi Leah

I gained 6lb overnight having my op and was constipated and bloated for about 7 days. After 14 days I had lost what I gained plus an extra 1lb (not including my implant weight) and was back to normal toilet routine. Its usually down to all the meds they give you during the op and also the painkillers they send you home on. You will also retain water after not being so active. I walked a few miles a day from day 5 and I think that really helped.

I also have 1 breast which is still higher and harder. I had my dressings off yesterday and I can tell the incisions are in a different place. My left is the higher one and my right one doesn’t bother me at all and the incision is right in the crease already. The nurse reassured me yesterday and said this is normal and the other will drop eventually in the next few weeks.

Thank you Louise, I have my post op appointment tomorrow, I’ve done nothing but read how all these things are normal but I sit and convince myself something must be wrong ! Walking is a great idea I think I’ll take that advice ! Again thank you xxx

I gained 10lbs too 🙁 it’s nearly all come back off now (3 weeks post op) also my right boob gives me loads more pain and muscle twinges than my left does. It’s higher and harder than my left.

I’m 5 days post op and I am exactly the same with the bloating. Each day I think oh it will start going down today but it hasn’t. And I am having a love hate relationship with my boobs, they are like stuck on swollen melons at the moment and I don’t like it at all they seem far to big for me at the moment, when does the swelling start going down, I am trying not to look at them too much at the moment as I know everyone says they will change so much. So I know how you feel Leah but from what I have read it will get better for us x

Hey Leah, I’d call your nurse to check about the size difference especially if I tell feels hard. I had this and it turned out to be Seroma which I had to get drained. Better to be safe than sorry xxx

Thanks everyone, I’m the kind of person that don’t like to make a fuss but it is on my mind, I’m seeing the nurse tomorrow at 2, so I’ll deffo go over all my concerns, hopefully it’s just one settling better than the other, the next 24hours can’t come quick enough. Xx

I gained 10lb and it’s all come off now xx took about a week maybe a little more. I was also bloated and felt awful

Hi Leah i have the same issue, my left breast is harder and more swollen than my right also I have been having sharp shooting pains in my left breast but thought this was part of the healing process. I had my 1 week post op appointment today and the nurse feels that I may have a haematoma and wants me to go back Saturday to see my surgeon ….i’m devastated/gutted 🙁 hope your okay make sure u mention it to the nurse tomorrow to be sure xxx

Sorry to hear you had complications to Jess, hope everything is okay now? Did you have to pay extra to have the Seroma drained etc?? xx

I’m worried about the same thing. I work so hard on the gym and eat well worried when I have boobs done on Monday I’m going to gain weight cos I can’t train for 6 weeks it’s going to kill me. Xx

I’m booked in at 2 today can’t wait to see how I’m getting on ! So so hope that all is okay and everything I’ve been feeling is just all part of the healing process ! My right still looks bigger ! I’ll

So I just got back from my post op All went ok, scars healing really well and look dead neat she said she’s not concerned with the right just thinks it’s taking longer to settle … she said if it’s anything it’s possible fluid so just keep my eye on how it’s feeling over the next week but over all it went well 🙂

Glad it all went well Leah, you must be really pleased. How’s your bloating? Honestly mine just will not go down 🙁

I’m 9st11 this morning so losing about 1lb a day ! Going to deffo start going for walks over the next few days, still feel bloated but not as bad I just feel fat 🙁 I’ll get back down to my usual weight ! And thanks Hun 🙂
