Super pleased with how I’m healing. They looked so awful to begin with, what a difference in 10 days since dressings came off xx

Hey Saff, I also have a very active 1 year old! I have just started to pick him up again now (he’s really light) I won’t lie it’s been hard so make sure you have plenty of support if you can Hunni. Try to get as organised as poss before hand with your little ones clothes, food etc. The first week was really tough and I slept loads because of the painkillers. I think I really turned the corner around day 10 and now I’m really mobile again, even went the gym yesterday (just lower body). I try not to change any nappies when I can just cause he likes to kick and mess about haha and I sort of side cuddle him but honestly as tough as it’s been it’s so worth it xxx

Your scars are so good! Bet you’re so happy! This gives me confidence that you can have this whilst having a child! I have an almost one year old and hoping to get the surgery next year X

Hi vic, thanks for your reply. I will have my partner around a bit, but there will be some days that I will be completely on my own, totally worried how I’m going to get around nap times etc, ad won’t be able to lift her in to her cot. Did u find any way of picking your little one up or getting him from A to B if u needed to? I’m sure the first few weeks will fly by anyway and il find ways around things haha. Glad your doin so well poppet, keep us updated on your healing 🙂 xxx

Hi Vic, your scars look great, id be super pleased. I’ve not seen what my look like just yet but I hope they look as good x

Hi Saff, just on the kids part… I have a 7 month old and I’m 17dpo and I still cant lift him. I get a lot of twinges and pain still plus I was told by the nurse I couldn’t lift him for 6 weeks as it’s classed as heavy lifting!! Not sure I can manage that long however I would advise to try get a lot of support if you can as you will need it. Even if you feel fine you dont want to risk damaging anything going on underneath.
I picked up my baby once from his cot and it caused a sharp pain so I wont be doing that again but everyo e heals at different speed. It is difficult when you’ve got kids but like Vic said it is worth it in the end. I hope you manage to find the help x

Vic they look amazing!! Read on another post you were using that scar cream from boots?? I might have to buy that now. How many weeks was it before they removed all your dressings? And when can you start using scar creams/oils? Xx
