Hi there, i had my 1st consultation last week with PC and they said they will be sending letter to GP so that they can give the go ahead with surgery. I have my 2 appointment later this month which is with a surgeon. Does anybody know at what stage this letter gets sent out? I have read a few stories on here about OPs being cancelled at last minute if you are not redeemed fit for surgery due to depression/anxiety even in the past which i had a small stint of back in 2008/9. So the whole thing has me worrying a bit. Xx

I ended up getting mine myself and sending it to mya. Gp was saying they hadn’t received the request from mya. It’s only your medical history they want, I never had any problems after that xx

Thanks for reply Melanie! Did you have to make an appointment with your GP to get the medical history or ask over the phone? Im wanting my surgery end of July and i don’t want to be stressing over it at the last minute right before surgery as ive heard people have been round in circles trying to sort it xxx

I had depression on my medical records but it was from 2012. My surgeon said it wouldn’t be anything he was worried about and was happy to go ahead with operation x

Thats good to know Sharon, thankyou, its just when you read things on here of peoples OPs being cancelled last minute, i probably wouldn’t of thought nothing of it otherwise. Xx

Your GP letter is only sent once you have booked the operation date x

I just phoned up and explained everything. GP secretary printed it all off and posted it out to me.

Thanks everyone, i phoned GP surgery to get my medical summary and they said they had already heard from Mya and sent it over to them, also receptionist said they had been back in touch as they wanted more information about something. I hope that’s not a bad thing xx
