I don’t suppose anyone has had their procedure over the festive period, or has a date planned for late Dec/early Jan?

I don’t have any holiday left to take from work, and really don’t want to use all of next year’s allowance, so I was hoping to have my surgery over Christmas and use the holiday period to recover.

Does anyone know if the surgeons work between Xmas and New Year?
I’m leaning towards Dr. Traynor, although I haven’t even had my initial consultation yet (booked for Saturday).

Any help or similar experiences would be great!

    Thanks in advance ladies 🙂

    Hi Isabella,
I’m in exactly the same boat as you, I’ve used all my holiday for this year. I have 3 days holiday unpaid in September which I was going to use to have my BA but if the op dates arent available for then, then I’m going to have to do the exact same as you and have it over xmas. I spoke with my Surgeon and he says they do usually do a few ops over the xmas period. However I’m not having my op with Mya but I’m sure some of the Surgeons with Mya will too, you might have to be a bit flexible on whose doing your op if only certain ones are working the xmas period.

Thank you so much Demi and Katie, that’s so helpful! It would be ideal if I could have my surgery between Christmas and New Year, then use some of next year’s holiday allowance to take an extra week or so off work (my commute is 1.5 hours drive to work everyday then the same back, so don’t want to go back to work too early!).
Keep me updated on your journeys beauts!! xx

Exactly Kelly! Have you chosen a surgeon yet? Where would you be going? I’m consulting with Newcastle, so I guess I’d go to Preston. I would love to book for a couple of days before Christmas, but the surgeons are entitled to their holidays too bless them! Haha xx

Hey hun I had mine Dec 12, my surgeon had a date for the following mon Dec 19 but I couldn’t take it as my proceedure was longer (ba with implants so I needed about double the time in theatre and they couldn’t squeeze me in) I was surprised they had tht date available tbh but tht was my surgeons last date for the year in 2016.

There is always a Dr on the ward to assist and nurses on the emergency hotline. I was worried due to the time of year but it was fine and I’m glad I had my op then as its easier to cope in the cooler temperature. U will be 6/7 months post op when summer 18 finally arrives and ur boobs will have settled a lot more too.

Ur best bet is to get ur pc to check ur surgeons diary and see what is planned for their xmas break. Dr Traynor is extremely popular so ur best to book in ur date as soon as ur sure.

@fran32 thank you so much that is such good advice. Wow I hadn’t even thought of being all done for summer 2018, or more comfortable post op with the cooler temperature. Such good points!
You’re right about Mr Traynor also, I’ll be doing it alone without any support so the earlier I book the better, that way I can sort transport etc also.
Thank you so much for your help xx

Ur very welcome hun! I recovered alone also my mum popped round everyday for a bit to check on me and arrange my meds in timed order. Have a look on my page for threads I’ve started I wrote a post about things I found really helpful recovering alone plus hints and tips on post op food and stuff. Fxx

MYA Nurse can issue you a sick note for 2 weeks, I don’t have any holiday left and I just requested sick note from the nurse and she has given it to me at my pre op. Given it to work no problems. No holidays lost 😉

    Hi,

I had my surgeon in May and when I get another one I’ll definitely do it over the winter period.
It was so horrible being stuck in a sports bra for weeks with big clothes when it was boiling hot and everyone’s in small ops. I think if it’s in winter you will just be able to wear jumpers and no one even notice the sports bra xx

Ur welcome hun I just like helping girls about as I felt really isolated when researching and couldn’t talk to anyone really about it. I was also paranoid that ut would look fake or really obvious and worried about what future bfs would think. I couldn’t care less now tbh!! My mates thought I was on something when I said I was gona have an uplift too and quite a few weren’t very supportive.

Now the ones who were against the uplift absolutely love my boobs and I’ve got so many good responses especially from girls I know who wana do it but are scared. My mum was against it but it’s the best gift I’ve ever given myself and if u can fo it over xmas it saves a lot of sweaty hassle!

U can feel bloated and crap for a bit while eating a wholesome roast dinner and catching up on TV whilst living in ur onesie! I missed out on new years eve etc but I went into 2017 knowing my body would be looking amazing and I just had such good positive feeling and I went mad in the January sales buying bodies with plunge necklines I couldn’t have ever worn pre op. I wish I did it ten years ago! If u need any advice just drop me a message fxxx
