Nervous but so excited, always wanted this done and now I’ve had my kids I’m going for it, although both are under 2 yrs old so bit worried about recovering

Hey, my admission time was 10am but didnt go to theatre until 2.30pm. The nurses take you to your room and get you ready (gown, paper pants, hair net, stockings and slippers) the anethetist comes to see you and then mr.marcellino came to room to drawn you up ready for surgery. Your then taken to the room and lay down for the general anesetic the next thing you know you wake up and think you’ve been gone 20seconds. I didnt feel in any pain when woke up very tired and a bit spaced out.

as for things to pack. Pj’s, underwear, your sports bra, clean clothes to go home in, toothbrush, phone charger. You dont need much just essesntials really. Xx

Mr Singh was my surgeon but my results are great and my experience was great!

I’m going to be lazy and copy and paste from a post I created after my op!

I had a 1pm admission where I was shown to my room and got comfortable. A very nice nurse came to ask me some questions and I had to do a compulsory pregnancy test (so don’t pee before the nurse comes like I did!)

I was last on the list, Mr Singh came to see me around 2pm and made his markings. I was taken down just after 3pm. I was prepped by the anaesthetist and all I remember after that was waking in recovery at around 6:50pm when I asked if it had been done! I was very disoriented from the anaesthetic and the morphine I’d been given. Mr Singh came to see me and asked how I was, he also told me how much he removed but I’ve forgotten. I felt quote sick so I was given an anti sickness injection before being taken back to my room.

Once in my room, I had a much better grip on what was going on, I had and still currently have what I can only describe as cuffs like blood pressure ones around my calves to constantly massage my legs. I was also hooked up to a blood pressure machine and cuff which did that every 15 minutes.

Go forward a few weeks, I was healing very well up until 5 weeks when my right breast stopped healing and the wound opened. We believed this was because my stitches dissolved before my body was ready and it’s not a common thing to happen so don’t let it freak you out. We left it quite a while in the hope that it would heal on it’s own and it didn’t so I had wound revision surgery eventually and I healed perfectly from then on.

I don’t regret a single moment and I’d gladly do it all again.
