Day case later admission time

Hi all. I’m booked for my surgery next Wednesday and I’ve just got my admission time of 3:30pm. I’m going as a day case and this seems awfully late to me. Does anyone know what time I’m likely to be home?

I was always told that overnight cases will get a earlier time as they have paid extra for it x

Do you know what is a typical length of time it all takes as a day case? I presume from your pic you’ve had yours done. How long were you in the hospital for?

Hi it all depends were u are on the list I was a day case admission time 11 but was last on the list so didn’t go down till half 3 x

Hi I had a 1pm admission and I went down at 17.00. I was allowed to go home at 22.00.
You can eat a small breakfast and have sips of water up to 2 hours before admission time / so it’s only like skipping lunch. I would have preferred an earlier admission but it wasn’t too bad x

Admission time is literally the time that they want you to arrive. My admission time was 7am and I didn’t get taken to theatre until well after 2pm.
They have to prioritise high risk patients first and also consider any hold-ups. My surgeon was late as he was attending a medical emergency in the morning. On the day, I wasn’t even bothered, I was just so glad to see he’d arrived!
I didn’t leave until after 10pm.

I was a daycase and had a 2pm admission time, I was in surgery for just after 2.30pm, unfortunately I had a bad reaction to the anaesthetic and was very drowsy and sick so I didn’t get discharged until 10pm, they were umming and arring about if I would be kept overnight if I was still being sick but luckily I felt better, if everything goes ok you should get discharged for 8-9pm xx
