    Hi Ladies,

As the op date quickly approaches I would like to know what are the chances of regaining / keeping the sensitivity and feeling of our boobs. Did your feeling go? Return? Or are you still waiting?
It’s a hugh thing for me as I would hate to lose the sensitivity of my boobs – it could be the deal breaker.
    What is your experience?

I’m 17 DPO, can feel everything except the bottom and underneath of my boobs it’s totally numb. Seems to be pretty common from what I can see. My nipples are now very sensitive at the minute it’s awful lol. Hope that settles x

Im nearly 7 weeks post op had horrendous over sensitivity in nipples from 2 weeks onwards but at least i knew the nerves had regenerated, still numb on the actual breast from just below the nipple to just under the crease but at this stage thats normal, since i joined the forum ive not actualy seen a post from anybody who lost feeling permenantly, i know people rarely do post once frequently once they are past the 4 and 5 month marker but when you do see random posts further down the line it’s usualy for ‘boobie birthday’ or because they have noticed sagging or still have a size difference etc….

I’m 5 weeks and can’t feel anything below my nipple down to my incision. My nipples are super sensitive and feel
Sore to touch and I’m numb on my left boob in my cleavage area so I’m hoping I get feeling back there! My right nipple was numb for the first 3/4 weeks xx

Hi I am nearly 4 weeks post op and the feeling is coming back, I would say about 85% I have no numbness at all now in any part of either breast, My nipples were hyper sensitive, but they are getting better each day, I can touch them now without wincing. For the first 2 weeks I was really worried because my boobs felt so weird, numb, (especially at incisions) my skin went through a stage of feeling stretched and sunburnt, very tingly and at one point my nipples could not stand even my hair to touch them!! Thankfully as I said all the numbness and nerve sensations in my skin and my breasts seems to have gone, I know the nerves around my nipples are still healing and this can take between 3-9 months.
It is very scary thing with a BA because it is possible to be left with numbness or hypersensitivity and it is a risk that we take, although reports say it is unusual to completley loose sensation altogether, but as clarelh said in her post above, she did loose sensation.
The other strange feeling is that they are a lot firmer than a natural breast, I had overs so my own tissue is soft, but i can feel the firmness of the implant underneeth, I am only 3.5 weeks post op so this could change, but at the moment that feels strange, they are not rock hard, just firm.
Finally I have been eating a diet to help with nerve damage recovery, I think it works. I started at 2 weeks post op and started to feel a difference everyday, I am sure it is helping the nerves to heal quickly. What we eat gives our body the tools it needs to repair damage and heal quicker.
I have found a BA is a major operation, takes longer to recover than I thought and is psychalogically a big thing. There are so many things to worry about afterwards and it takes time and patience to adjust to the new body and boobies.
would I have them done again, knowing what I know now, YES because I love the size and shape and I feel that I am recovering well, but its a big decision and its only yourself that can make it. good luck hun xx

Hi, I might be one of the few who never regained full sensitivity after the op (which was over 10 years ago) x x
