Hi girls, I had MYA send off my doctors letter direct to my doctor to inform them I’m getting my boobs done, and yesterday I got a letter through from my actual doctors asking me to phone up and book in for an appointment. It doesn’t say what it’s about but I’m 99% sure this is to do with MYA’s letter to them (which I signed).

Has anyone else had this? Is it normal? I’m feeling pretty anxious about it if I’m honest:-(

    Hi
Have you phoned the GP to ask what the appointment is for? Could just be a routine check up?

Yeah I phoned up to make the appointment but in typical doctor fashion they don’t tell you anything. Drives me cuckoo!

All it’s done is leave me worried.

I have just re-read it and it refers to “a letter we recently received” – which is 100% the letter from MYA.

I had to pay £20 for my information from my doctors to be sent, maybe that’s why he wants to see u x

    Hi Hannah,
I would certainly imagine that it is the reason, and as Katie said probably be prepared to pay a fee for information sent from your doctor.
I can’t really see why they have to give permission for you to have something done that you want to have done to your body

I just went into my GP surgery and asked for my medical summary and they printed it off there and then, they have to give it to you, it’s a legal obligation. I then scanned and forwarded it to my PC. Maybe this would be a better option for you?

My GP didn’t. I went in once with something else and just asked them if they got any letters, the GP said that they got my clinic letters and are happy to provide extra sick notes if needed, but they didn’t ask me anything about it.
