Anyone been tested by her ? I know some surgeons do and some don’t. I just can’t quit, I’ve already quit fags so going cold turkey is impossible.

Hey Hun, I had Linda yesterday. Went cold turkey for a week and half! They do ask if you’ve smoked, I was honest with her and told her only quick for a week and a half rather than two. They test your oxygen levels, mine was 100% so she put me down as a non smoker, I know it’s really really difficult but try not to, you don’t want to be sent home after how far you’ve already come! I think if your oxygen levels are low they will then test you, xx

Meant to quit 4 weeks of you can, but 2 weeks for deffo! Most people don’t get tested but it’s really not worth the risk. If your oxygen levels are low they’ll most likely test you! Xx

What’s classed as a low oxygen level and how long does it take to get oxygen levels back after smoking ?

Don’t quote me on this as I maybe wrong, but I think anything under 96% is bad? But I’m not 100% certain. I just quit as soon as I could and hoped and prayed i’d be fine. My fella smokes a lot around me though and I was still good! Xx

If you are a smoker, they say there can potentially be more complications etc. If the surgeon decides to do a test and can see that your oxygen levels aren’t good they will cancel your op until you stop smoking as they don’t want to put you or your safety at risk. x

Hi girls. I was a smoker, smoked since I was around 14 (I’m 24 now) i completely stopped 1 month b4 surgery I read about the healing complications and the other problems that could be caused by smoking and I though gosh I’m just going to quit. It was actually alot easier than expected any time I craved one I thought about the surgery and just kept thinking how much I wanted my incisions the heal good. You should deffo give it a try, I know it’s hard but it’s worth a go! Good luck ladies xx
