FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN IMPLANT- arhhhhh!

Hi girls

Well I woke up this morning and my implant had flipped over in my sleep and the flat side was facing upwards. My boob looke horrendous. I somehow managed to flip it back (not sure of I should have done this but sod having surgery again) and now it’s back to normal. Has this happened to anyone else??? I’ve ready that this happens if the pockets too big for the implant. Freaked out!!!!

Thanks. It was majorly scary if felt horrible. I’ve never heard of it either, only anatomicals turning round but mines a high profile round one. I’ve rang HMG to see what they say but after all the PIP stuff I doubt they’re going to care about or fix this? Really should have a bigger implant in. x

Keep them supported hun breast band would be good for at least a week or 2 or really tight sports bra m&s zip up one kept mine in place amazin! How far po are u? Xx

I’m 5 months post op. Still not heard anything from HMG starting to get pissed off, you’d think it would be an urgent call back. So worried its going to keep happening. Was wearing a Macom bra every night up until 3 weeks ago (been on hols and didn’t want to wear it) and now this has happened. If they’d said I’d have had to wear one every night forever I really would have reconsidered xx

do you mind if a add you nat? my surgeon said wear a sports bra for 12 weeks night and day then i can sleep as i feel comfortable so for me that will be without! i cant stand it on but at the mo i have too im only 16days po x

Yeh add away. I’ve had absolute no problems up until now. Was really good with wearing the Macom, still don’t really even wear wired bras now. Xx

Omg!! Do you have anatomicals? Ive heard of this happening with those but not with round. Keep on at HMG. Have you tried calling your pc? X

I hardly wear my sportsbra and my surgeon said that’s okay…I don’t think It’s down to the sports bra …I would have it checked asap as that really doesn’t sound normal babe:/

Yep, they can flip. It is more common with high profile implants because they are more spherical. Smooth implants slide in the pocket and can easily rotate. Usually hey just spin in place; however, when the pocket is larger, it is easier for the implant to also flip over.

This is not usually a problem. Because the implants are soft and the front and back have about the same shape i is hard to tell if an implant has flipped over. If they get stuck on end, then it is more obvious that some thing is rotated.

As time goes on the pocket usually contracts and it becomes harder to flip them, but implants are soft and deform easily so they can always be flipped if you are trying to flip them. You may need to wear good support during the day and even a soft bra at night to help keep them in place, and see if this helps settle things down.

No I haven’t yet. Im staying at my boyfriends an all my details and phone numbers etc are at home and hour away. I’ve never heard of it either, god knows what I was doing in my sleep. I had a 13 hour flight Saturday so I don’t l k ow of that’s affect it x

I’ve had a call back and because it’s not n emergency as I’ve flipped it back myself (the more I think about this the less I think I should have done it but severe panic had set in) I can’t get an appointment until APRIL!! What a joke x
