What area is this anyway

I am considering TT and would like to hear from everyone who had it done and how they feel after the operation. Also what they used to help the scar heal faster and become less visible.

This is a chance for me to tell my story! Lol. I had a full tummy tuck on the 14th July at Highgate Hospital. Dr Chantasarak did it for me. I was nervous before I went to the hospital, but for some reason when I had been taken down to theatre, had no worries at all. We arrived at the hospital and I had to fill out a form and make sure the details they had were correct. I had to then go and speak to a Dr there who went through everything with me, before I was taken to my room. Once I had settled in, a nurse came round and took my blood pressure, weight, height etc. She talked about what would happen and also let me know that I was on the list and there were other ladies in front of me who were all going for BAs! I then saw the anaethnatist who talked me through what he was going to be doing and let me address any concerns that I may have. He also reassured me that everything was going to be fine. I later then saw the surgeon himself, he came to talk to me about what he was going to do and marked me up! Lol. I also was given some paper pants that I had to wear and a gown. It was a great look! Lol. I eventually went down at 2:30pm. So calm. Had to put the stockings on! They are essential! Not attractive! I walked through and was told to lie on the operating table! There was a lovely nurse there and she just stuck pads on me and we just chatted in general. Anaethnatist came again and said he was going to put a needle in my hand and that I would soon be asleep! Before he had finished I was sound asleep. All in all I was in theatre for 2 hours 10 minutes. Once I had come around, I was shaking, that was the after affect of the aneathesia! Some people are sick, but I was ok. I was wheeled back to my room. I was very sore! I had drains in (they were not nice). For the first night I had to have help to go to the toilet. They do NOT let you do anything for the first 24 hours, as you are still very sore and still have the drains in. Once the drains are removed, they like you to get up and have a very birsk walk down the corridor. Admittedly it was hard, I was hunched over and had to take like pigeon steps! You are given painkillers if needed. first 48 hours I did take some. Once I was home, I rarely needed them. You have to sleep up right for the first 10 days at least. No heavy lifting and no unecessary pulling (I have a great husband). You are not allowed to drive for 14 days and must have complete rest, only going to the toilet things like that. First week was not allowed to shower (as had dressings on).
As for what they did to me. Well, I was cut from hip to hip and had my belly button cut out, they pulled the skin tight across and then up and then re-stitched my belly button in place. You have to wear a really horrible tight corset, but it is necessary as it will stop the skin from retracting to its normal postition. I suffered more with back ache for the first 10 days than I did with muscle ache where they stitched the muscle back in place. Going to toilet (you know what I mean) for a few days is hard, you must make sure you support yourself with coughing and sneezing. It’s been 3 weeks tomorrow since I had mine done and I can now cough easier, but still hurts very slightly to sneeze. Wish I could show you a before and after so you can really see how much better I look for having it done. I won’t lie, I did find it hard for the first 7-10 days. Frustrating too as I wasn’t able to lift my son or do anything. I got a great family behind me! But i’m glad I went through with it. Am able to take my corset off in about a week to ten days time, so will be glad. All my clothes are too big for me now! Lol. Great excuse to go shopping

I am booked in for my TT on the 11th May with Dr Chantarasak and for want of a better phrase, I am bricking it! But reading your story has made me feel a little better and I am going to keep an open mind. Thanks so much for posting your story, it was very informative and honest and I am grateful to have read it.
