Went today for my first consultation, this wasn’t with a surgeon it was just the first initial visit.

So I have wanted an uplift and implant for the past 10 years and I’m now in the position to take the first step. So you can imagine my disappointment when she suggested only and uplift without the implant which wouldn’t give me the fuller look on the top of the breast and even suggested a reduction.

Has anyone ever been told “no”… I’m meeting the consultant tomorrow but feeling really defeated at the moment x

I think it depends on your size to begin with? I haven’t had this problem but I am sure I have seen people on here told no by one surgeon, to then be told yes by another! Don’t feel too deflated just yet. X

Hi Laura, don’t be defeated lovley. Do get a second opinion though. There’s so many surgeons with MYA, find one that listens to what you are looking for and why. I met one surgeon and found her very dismissive, gave me one option that was the opposite to everything I wanted and just wanted to put massive implants in . I’ve since met Mr Marcellino and he is simply the loveliest surgeon. He listened, gave me options, explained scarring, asked what my expectations are and gave me confidence that he would so what I need. Don’t be afraid to ask for a second opinion xx

Hi Laura, I originally went in wanting implants and uplift however was told by the surgeon I had chosen that he wouldn’t give me implants because I already had a lot of breast tissue (I’m a 34d for reference) and that adding an implant would add more weight to the breast and therefore just sag again. At first I was extremely disheartened but actually came around to the idea and I am booked in to have just the uplift done next week. The surgeon I went with did tell me to go and get opinions from other surgeons so if you have your heart set on getting them both done definitely go and get a second opinion from different surgeons xx

I got told no twice and I got told yes they would operate from 3 other surgeons, it does depend on your breasts already the reason why they would say no. I already have breast tissue and my surgeon told me it is possible providing I am sensible about it and don’t go stupid with the size, definately get a second opinion try not to let it get to you too much xxx
