I’m 21 and I’ve always been so embarrassed of my lady bits. I’ve been wanting surgery since I was 16 but never got the courage to do it. For the past few months I’ve been wanting to book a consultation with MYA but I’ve always backed out. Is there anyone around my age getting the same thing done? Or can anyone give me any advice on what to expect at the consultation, can I bring anyone along for support? etc, as I’m so nervous.

    Hey Leah,
I am 21 and have been through a long process of going back and forth, backing in and out. It’s exhausting and stressful, especially if you don’t want everyone knowing. My surgary is booked for the 22nd of September and I’m really excited and very confident with the whole situation. I feel massive sense of relief. If it’s the right decision for you, it should definitely be done but you won’t know until you have a consultation.
A couple of tips for the stage you are at. Firstly you need someone 100 percent behind you and with you emotionally and physically. Bring them to every consultation and tell them Everything. Ideally an older sibling, close friend or parent who has your best interest at heart. You must not do it alone. Secondly work out timings of when would be appropriate to have 6 weeks doing absolutely nothing. Thirdly, speak to a few different surgeons , do not settle for the first one, shop around and get a feel for what makes you feel comfortable. RESEARCH your surgeon well (find reviews of his similar work..is he the best at what he does?)and ask him 100000 questions, even if they sound stupid. (He can get an idea of where your at mentally) my surgeon is dr ibrahiem. He’s been amazing so far and his background of work gives me complete confidence in this journey. Check him out and deffo go for a consultation.
I pictured my life 5 years down the line and how I would still feel if I didn’t do somthing now. That’s what pushed me.
Hope that’s helped. I could of done with that at my first steps! I’m happy to keep you updated on the next few months.
    Xxxx

    Hi Leah

I felt exactly the same i had my first consultation at 18 and I kept putting off the surgery after that because i was so scared!
I’m now 26, I finally had my procedure done in London. To be honest they were fantastic.
The whole process I felt at ease. Everyone from the nurses to the surgeons and consultant were lovely.
I’m all healed and 6 months post-op, I feel great and couldn’t be happier with the results!
I hope everything goes as well for you as it did for me.

If you want to ask any questions feel free to message me. 🙂

    Hi Faye,

I hope you’re well. I have been reasearching Labiaplasty for a while now and I feel I am now ready to take the plunge and go for it.

I have been having a look on different websites that does this procedure and I have come across MYA.

I literally have so many questions to ask…
But I will keep it short & sweet lol..
    – Was it really painful afterwards?
    – How much did you pay for the procedure?
    – How long was your recovery time and is the after care good?

    Thanks so much 🙂 x

I had a labia minora reduction when I was about 23. I also had liposuction on my lower stomach and sides at the same time as well. Don’t know why, didn’t really need that, but apart from the first time going to the toilet afterwards and it stinging a bit, I don’t actually remember any pain afterwards. This was a long time ago, over 10 years ago now. I think the bruising and pain from the lipo was worse, so I was probably more focussed on that. I was back at work about 3 days later I think, no problems.

    I have no regrets whatsoever.
