Help please – stitches

Hi girls

I have accidentally pulled a stitch half out when taking a dress off last night. There is no bleeding or pain and no open wound. But I have a long stitch about 3 inches long handing off my boob!

Spoke to nurse at mya she said not to cut it and try and get a sterile dressing and then get to the clinic to have it looked at.

Feel panicked but it’s over an hour to the surgery and wouldn’t be able to go for a week. Do you think my GP can do anything?

At 4weeks PO I noticed I had a stitch hanging out and I’m sure I didn’t pull it, it was just there no bleeding etc like yours .I just left it and a week later it came out itself and was fine told nurse she said it was absolutely fine and quite common so I wouldn’t worry to much. At least if you go to the GP they can check it over and give you their opinion.xx

@juicy22 i think the nurse has worried me telling me to get myself to manchester ASAP to see her. I can’t go realistically for a week and I’m so scared that the wound might burst open or something!! It’s quite long the string coming out

Yes so was my stitch it was strange as felt like it came out of nowhere, if u you can see, is the the wound still intact? How far PO are you? I’d get yourself to GP ASAP then u can get a better of idea of what’s best. Could you possibly email pictures to the nurse as without seeing it can sound worse than what it is, they say it takes 3weeks usually for them to dissolve so at 4 I panicked . Have you got any dressing or tape u can put on it for now xx
