    Hi there. Dont worry,

To put it simply – when you wake up you feel DRUNK! lol. A bit out of it and hazed. And sometimes you talk rubbish or puke.

As for being put to sleep – you naturally feel nervous but its all so quick. They’ll put a needle in your hand and hold your hand whilst they chat a bit to you. But before you know it your gone! You just feel really really sleepy and you feel soooo relaxed and calm!

    Hope that helps? x x

I was soooo frightened of this but im 10 days post op and it was the best bit!!! lol it was my first ever time with GA and i hate needles, was scared of waking up through surgery, then scared of not waking up. This is completly normal and everyone must suffer with this lol. I never felt the needle go in (i had in my elbow crease as wouldnt let them in the back of my and lol) and felt like i had blinked it was all over with before i knew it and it was an amazing feeling!! Im not very strong when it comes to drugs etc so thought i would be sooooooooooo sick but i wasnt and didnt feel it either. You will love it and before u no it will be alll over and done with,
    Good luck hunny xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

no thats not true hun thats wat worried me your be fine i was the same as you xxxx

    Menu

So is it true what the girl said on the other discussion topic? That during a general your chest and lungs are paralised too and u cant breathe so a machine has to breathe for you? Really did not know this! How do they get you breathing again and how do they bring you round? do they inject something else to wake you up? Has it ever not worked? Are there risks you wont wake up? xx

    Hi there,
I have a phobia of needles and my surgeon is putting some cream in my hand before the needle goes in so I won’t be able to feel anything and just go off into a deep sleep.
Maybe it work for you too?

Hi there! i suffer with anxiety, but being put to sleep is actualy quite relaxing! as wierd as it sounds! the moment your put under your waking up! when i woke up, i thought id had a nigth out and was hungover for a min! was funny! then i looked around (blurred, didnt have me glasses on!) and saw a doctor walk up to me! and then they put me onto a trolley thing and wheeled me to my room! and i felt soooo relaxed! felt stoned ha ha!! was lovely! then woke up later at teatime and ate loadsa food and texted everyone pics of my boobs n kept going to the toilet to have a sneek! was very exciting and not that bad at all! you,l be fine XX

    Menu

i actually thought it was quite nice, everyone smiling and chatting away then you doze off and when you wake up its all done and it seems like only 2 mins have passed
what you’ve got to remember is its much better than the alternative, imagine before anaesthetic was invented and being awake through it all!
Just relax and you’ll be fine, i think if you tense up it hurts more when the needle goes in anyway x

aww thanks dollybird! i think i will cry dramaticly when i see my boobies lol its the one thing my mind is set on before i pass :| lol and if i necer get it done i know i will live to regret it. iv heard a lot of good feed back from mr adamo but you can see more than one surgeon so i think i will see mr adamo and mr singh then decide from there.
i will feel well bad on the one i dont choose tho lol xxx

Hi Em, I was really worried about going under GA too but there’s really nothing to worry about. I was talking to the anaesthetist who told me to check the time on the clock and that I would get a funny taste in my mouth and feel dizzy. The next thing I was aware of was shouting at the anaesthetist that they hadn’t put me under properly and that I needed more GA otherwise I would feel everything to be told that it was done. Coming round is quite disorientating as you feel like you haven’t even been to sleep and that only a minute has passed. I had a cry when I saw my new boobs. Mr Adamo was great, really pleased with him. Good luck x

Average is like 60 minutes! Thats all, not long at all. Dont think about the needles etc- get your mind directly onto how your boobs will look in a bikini everytime you think of going under x x

When i had my BA, i was talking to the anaesthesist… and i remember saying when is this anasthetic going to kick in, .. she replied.. ‘its all done’
:O i was in shock, all i can remember is one fluid conversation with the anasthesist in surgery… i wondered why all of a sudden my boobs felt stiff.. i thought it was the anaesthetic lol

BTW, that was the first time i had ever been under general anaesthetic, and i was very nervous

im sh!tting myself. and i haven’t even been to my first consult yet! lol which is next weds! i don’t care about any pain il suffer after its done, JUST the needle! i did it once before to have 5 teeth out (to have braces) but i had gas and air before the needle..

apparently if you ask about it they will give u gas n air so I’m gonna ask coz that stuff is amazing u should ask too if ur worried, it completely relaxes you. i went from crying hysterically in the waiting room refusing to do it, to laying in the dentist chair laughing (i nearly told him i loved him!) while he injected both my arms!! and the feeling of going under is really nothing, he told me to count to 10, i remember getting to 3, next minute i was awake, it feels like uve blinked and missed whats happened lol :) an i jus felt giddy when i woke up n really sleepy, not bad at all x
