Heyyy, I’ve seen a few girls mention having morphine after surgery, I’m having my op Friday and was wondering will I have this!? The thought is making me nervous as it’s making me think how much pain will I be in!? Xxx

Hey, I think you will have to have it as this is what they do to reduce the discomfort. There is nothing to be nervous about, however I had an allergic reaction to it lol It was uncomfortable as I was trying to come out of GA and was very itchy from my shoulders up, which was very frustrating as you cant move your arms after the op. I am sure you will be absolutely fine hun xx

I was given paracetamol – not ideal but don’t think the pain was morphine worthy. It hurts more than you prepare for but not as bad as you think either. We all deal with pain differently though. Some girls on here hardly felt any pain and some were in agony.
You have nothing to be anxious about though. Unders hurt a little more than overs apparently. X

I had morphine it was great I had no pain till I got home. Girls who had op after me without morphine we asking nurses for more pain relief where as I was sat there comfortable! I didn’t know I was going to have it I was just told after I believe it’s surgeons preference x

I didnt have morphine.. i felt great until 30 mins after the op all of a sudden my chest felt like it was on fire and the stinging was insane it was all so bad it was making it really hard for me to breathe.. so i had tramadol injection.. and it was like flicking a switch i was up and about getting dressed to go home.. maybe i had so much pain because of size and not having morphine im not sure.. every hospital is diff they have diff ways.. but they only give what is needed and if u r in any pain they will sort it.. im kind of glad i didnt have morphine because if i had then got home and had that kind of pain i wouldnt have had the tramadol to hand x
