Hi all I had BA 1o days ago at my pre op my nurse told me they would check/trim stitching then mr Traynor likes to keep the outer stitch for a second week however at my I week post op check I had a different nurse she said to just keep dry for only 2 days then to shower which would be today but I keep thinking what difference would 2 days have made?? So as much as I want to shower I’m scared it’s too early?? Anyone else had Traynor and how long have you left it before showering?? Xx

    Hi Hun.
I had Mr traynor 10 days ago too and was never told anything bout his stitches until I went for my 1 week check where the nurse re dressed my incisions and told me not to shower until next week when I’ve been and had the ends of the stitches cut. Sorry it’s not much help I’m desperate to shower properly too xx

No that is a good help because I was under the impression from the first nurse that I would have to leave them in for a second week which I’m happy to do if that’s what he wants but upon seeing a different nurse she has wiped clean redressed and trimmed the ends then told me to wait only 2 day until I soak of the dressings in the shower??? I might just wait til exactly 2 weeks but I’m now thinking have they been trimmed too early?? Xxx

I’m not sure Hun I will be 12 days post op tomorrow and I’m having them trimmed then. So may be she will tell me the same as you to wait another 2 days then I can shower!! I will let you know when I’ve been tomorrow what she said xx

Hi, it really depends how you are healing, everyone will be told some thing different by the nurse based on this…I had Mr Traynor and now nearly 9months PO… You will be surprised how quick you will have your first shower, just make sure you pat the incisions dry.. Your stitches are dissolvable and won’t be going anywhere until they are ready ? X

I was at the Manchester clinic with Mr traynor, and I had mine trimmed at 1 week but they hadn’t all dissolved yet. I could shower from 1 week regardless 🙂 and if they hadn’t all dissolved by 2 weeks I had to go back to have them snipped xxx

Hi Hun think every person is different and also every surgeon. I had mr kazzazi and had strapping in for 10 days so could have shallow baths then when strapping was removed saw the nurse again at 14 dats who advised leave it another week. So waited 3 weeks to have a shower but 8 weeks till I could soak in a full bath. In between I managed fine with shallow baths and using flannel on top half avoiding inscisions.

I seen the nurse today after one week she removed the plaster and cleaned it don’t no if she was cutting anything I looked the other way but I don’t think she did. I can shower and don’t see anyone again till 6 weeks is this normal? Just seen my incisions too and they are tiny I am really pleased! I was expecting a lot worse. Mr Mounir to thank for that couldn’t be happier xx
