Just wanted to share my MYA journey which has been a bit of a whirlwind but has been an amazing journey.

I went for my initial consultation on 12th July and met my lovely PC Alison Day who was so friendly and had lots of amazing advice. We went though everything from why I wanted to have the procedure done to her squeezing a twisting the Mentor implants to show me how much they can withstand. I told her I was planning a holiday in September and she very quickly started looking into options of having my surgery and recovering before my holiday. She told me I could meet Mr Netri the following day, I was super nervous but thought if I have plucked up the courage to boon my initial appointment I might as well bite the bullet and meet my potential surgeon. I was sent home with Mr Netri’s information so I could research him and was sent the MYA app to watch pre operative video and read all the fine print details.

I didn’t see any negative comments on Mr Netri and when I had my surgical consultation I knew why, this man knows his boobs, he suggested 500cc straight away as I am tall and have broad shoulders. I tried the implants on with a MYA bra and they looked amazing, he did say when I get implants they will look better as they will be inside and not outside on top of my own boobs. I went in the next room and my PC ordered 500cc and 450cc implants just in case but I knew I would be going with 500cc, I paid my deposit then booked my pre operative consultation with the nurse for the following Monday.
When I got home I searched everywhere for women with 500cc implants with similar stats to me and there’s were very few and I started to get worried I would be going too big but I trusted the advice from my surgeon and looking through his Instagram account put me at ease.

At my pre operative consultation they went through my medical history that I filled in before my initial consultation, took my blood pressure, MRSA swabs and the dreaded before pictures. Due to me being black the nurse advised me to ask my GP for blood tests to find out if I had sickle cell trait (if you don’t know if you are get the test before booking the consultation, I only had confirmation that I was 2 days before my surgery).
As soon as I got home I contact my doctor to request they send my full medical history to MYA and book a blood test then the wait began, 27 long days before my surgery.

I received my admission letter via email 6 days before my surgery date, 8am at First Trust Hospital and it all began to feel real.
On the day I went to the hospital and arrive at 7:30am no traffic on the road. I signed in the shortly after met the nurse who would be looking after me, he was lovely and funny and put me at ease. He took me to my room went through the basics name, DOB, address then asked me to change into my gown, lovely paper knicks and asked me to do a wee sample. How I got my paper knicks on I’ll never know but I did. The nurse checked my sample and said he was pleased to tell me it was negative. I would be the first surgery of the day which I was happy with as I’m very impatient. Mr Netri came in and drew on me and agreed again that it would be 500cc implants going in. Next Dr Ahmed the anaesthetist checked my details.
I went down at 9:35 had the canular put in and I was pretty relaxed even more as I could hear Mr Netri play Bruno Mars, that was my last memory until I was being woke up at 10:50. I can’t remember what I said but I was a right Chatty Cathy. I was then wheeled to my room I had drains in which didn’t really bother me. I was very thirsty so drunk lots of water and had a sandwich.
When the drains came out the left side was painful, more burning and stinging and I was dreading the right side but it wasn’t too bad. The nurse then helped me with putting my bra on. I brought my Yianna bra which I love but I was very swollen so had to change into my Macom bra when I got home. The car ride was fine I didn’t need to use a cushion as I was extremely comfortable.

Fast forward to today, not had to take much pain relief and has a walk to the shops. I just can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get my boobs done but I would define my recommend MYA and Mr Netri.
