So I am 1 year post op the 10th April…That has gone so bloody quickly and what a journey I have had!
I thought I would share my story with everyone as I know pre-op patients have a lot of questions (I personally couldn’t do enough research before I had mine done!). I had Breast Augmentation, my surgeon was Mr Mounir, my surgery was done at the First Trust Hospital in Preston, my clinic was Nottingham and my PC was Kimberley.
I had been to a couple of companies and had consultations with a few different surgeons before I had decided which surgeon to go with. When I met Mr Mounir, I knew straight away that he was the right surgeon for me, you just know trust me! He listened to me, explained everything in great detail, made me feel comfortable and at ease and most of all gave me options as well as his advice. He also had fantastic results from many other patients that I had spoken to!
I am 5’9, I weigh about 9 and half stone, a true size 8 and I was a 30B pre-op. I was undecided on the size for some time as didn’t want them to look odd on my skinny frame but wanted them to be big enough that I wasn’t disappointed. I do weight training and pole dancing so Mr Mounir has advised that I should go with overs so not to mess around with muscles that I use often. I was now worried, so it meant because I did sports I had to have overs (I had not realised this)…they wouldn’t look right on me, I haven’t got enough breast tissue to cover the size implant that I wanted, I would get rippling, they would look fake…I had set my heart on unders! – These were all thoughts that I was having!
So after much research I decided that I really wanted 375 round implants and I would go with overs as Mr Mounir has advised, as much as I had a lot of doubt in my head!
I had a 3 and half hour drive from where I live to Preston hospital and my boyfriend came with me to support me and drive me home the next day! My admission time was 11am and I did not go down to theatre until 6pm!! I was starving hungry, thirsty and had the worst headache because I was so dehydrated (This was definitely the worst part to my whole experience!) I finally went down to theatre and as soon as I got on the table, the doctor gave me something that got rid of my headache in seconds and then I was put to sleep. I have never been put to sleep before but when I came round I felt like I had had the best sleep, I felt awesome. I was up and dressed not long after I had come around, I just wanted to leave and go and get Dominos pizza! We stayed at the Marriott Hotel which is just around the corner from the hospital, it was lovely!
My recovery was a lot easier than I thought it would be, I only took pain killers for the first couple of days and then just dealt with the little niggles here and there (and they do last for some time whilst the nerves heal and go back to normal). The showering and sleeping up right wasn’t overly easy but you soon get used to it. I was back to work and driving 9 days after I had my op!
I went and got measured for the first time and the lady told me I was a 30F/32E depending on what make bra I go for, wow that was a lot bigger than my DD that I was originally asking for.
Through this last year, I have had many points where I hated my new boobs, it is completely normal to think that way. They change so much over the year and we never believe it until it’s ourselves going through it. The visual changes in my boobs are amazing and I truly haven’t started to love them until now. They take a long time to settle and get to what they will look like so please be patient with your new boobs!
This has by far been my best experience ever and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! I have wanted boobs since as long as I can remember and now at 27 I have the boobs I want and I absolutely love them, they don’t look fake, they don’t look too big and I don’t get any rippling regardless of how skinny I am!
My advice to anyone researching … If this is what you truly want, go for it! Don’t listen to what other people have to say, it is your decision and your body. Make sure you do you research, shop around and go back and see you surgeon as many times as you need to before your op, I went back to Mr Mounir 4 times before I had my op!!
I will attach some photos to show at different points of my recovery – Hope this helps some people 😀

    Thanks Leigh! That’s really helpful.
I’m 5 weeks post op and not ‘in love’ with my new boobs. Your post put me at ease.

Did you get a lift? Have your boobs dropped much since the beginning?
I have a concern about how much mine will ‘drop’ as I don’t want saggy big boobs haha

Hi Adele! I wanted to wait until the year point before I wrote my story as that’s how long they tell you to be patient for and let them settle. It let me upload a picture too, yay..Have a look!
No I had no lift, I had no boob before hand to lift hehe. Yes, Ithink they have dropped loads, they were so high up my neck and now they look like full boobies! Have you uploaded any pictures, maybe I could have a peak? Be patient honey, I promise you WILL love them! You just have to wait for them for them to settle and really become yours xx

Thanks Ellie! I wanted to share my experience but wanted to wait until I could show the final result…the year point. How are you finding your recovery? Yes they say with under it takes a little longer because your muscles have to relax. Yes I saw a lot of difference in that time, I didn’t really like mine at 3 months. About the 7/8 month time I really started to see the difference and like them! It’s just a waiting game. Are you happy with your result so far? xx

    @cristinacatino
You’re so welcome 🙂 I always wanted to see peoples results further down the line so thought it was fair to share mine now. Thank you, i do love them. When are you having your op? Which surgeon have you gone with? xx

@shameelac Aww thanks Shameela, I love them! It’s so nice to hear feedback from girls that have looked at boobs of all shapes and sizes! How comes you were having doubts about being offered 450cc? Reading over your stats, I think 450cc would be perfect for you and look really good! Yes I have quite broad shoulders and was so worried that 375 wouldn’t make much difference but they really really have. I sometimes wonder if they’re a tad too big for my frame but then think, nahhhh they look pretty bloody good hehe. Have you booked your surgery? xx

They look better now than at the start Leigh. I hope mine end up so good. I had 320 overs but I was borderline an uplift despite only being a very small A to start. My recovery post op (12 weeks Monday just gone) has been great – no pain at all. I did have weird moving sensations in my left breast from week 2-6 and then a sort of stuck feeling in the left when I sat in certain positions but this has 90% gone now. Did you experience anything like this? I’ve got my 3 month check up next week!

@ll121 They’ve changed so much haven’t they and I don’t think you realise how much until you put photos together to compare. Make sure you take lots of photos Lisa! I bet you are glad you didn’t have to have an uplift? Yes, I had those weird sensations too, it’s just fluid and it does go down and stop but it is a very odd sensation isn’t it! I am so glad that you healing well and loving your new assets! xx

You know what I think it was because of the waiting time that put me in a mad mood firstly because I had to rush straight to work. Then when I was trying them on the mirror I couldn’t see a difference, but its probably because it was just sitting in a sports bra lol. But now after seeing yours and your stats I think I’ve calmed down now lol. Yeah that was the problem with me I have broad shoulders and was worried of accepting the 450cc and still look a bit flat. I was going to book it yesterday but I’m going to speak to my pc again. Can I book with my pc? xx

    Leigh 63

@shameelac Yes I hear you on the waiting time, they’re definitely not great on time keeping! I agree with you about trying on the sports bra, I couldn’t really see much from that either. Because I used to always wear a thick padded bra, I just felt like I couldn’t see what they would look like. They’re just trying to give an idea of projection. I think 450 would be great for your frame. Is that the biggest size the surgeon offered you? Yes chick, phone you PC. Even go back and see your sugreon again before you book the surgery! Be clear in your head xx

@lr666 I’m having surgery tomorrow and can’t decide between moderate and high profile. I don’t want the fake look so was leaning towards moderate but after seeing yours I want yours and these are high profile so I’m so confused. I don’t know what to do. I’m having 375cc too.

@lucypugh Morning Lucy. I see your surgeon is Mr Kazzazi. Did he think that moderate would look better on you than high profile? If so did he say why chick? Mr Mounir did mention moderate profile to me but I decide to go with high as I wanted the projection more than base width as moderate are bigger in width than high profiles. Apart from the profile confusion, are you excited? xx

@lr666 I decided last minute to switch companies so no longer a Mya patient. My surgeon really doesn’t think high will look as good on me, he says as I have little breast tissue moderate will be better if it’s the natural look I want but I keep changing my mind on what I want so that’s not helping!!!! I’m very inclined to trust his judgement but I’m scared of being disappointed. Everyone’s results look so different obviously as we all start out so different so it’s hard to judge on people’s photos.

Yes I am very excited but obviously nervous at the same time! First on the list tomorrow so hopefully no waiting around hungry and thirsty which I’m so pleased about!

@Lucypugh Oh how comes you changed comapnies last minute? Did you not like the look of MYA or did you find a surgeon elsewhere that you preferred? Mr Mounir said to me to start with he thinks I should have moderate profile because the same as you, I had very little breast tissue (you can see from my before photo how little I did have, is your similar?) but I really want high profile so we agreed on that and I think mine look absolutely fine on me, not too pointy, not too fake.
I had said to start with I wanted a natural look and I think I achieved that, and that was with having overs, having quite big implants for my body/pre boob and having high profile. Dr Mounir gave me Cohesive II implants rather than Cohesive I, means that they are a bit firmer to reduce the chance of rippling.
Are you looking at having overs or unders Lucy?
Good luck for you tomorrow! Moderate or high, you will still like them more than the boob you have now 😉 xx

lr666 I changed because I went for a 3rd consultation and I was impressed with it, I was in with the surgeon for a long time, he was measuring me and drawing on me, taking pictures and everything!!! I felt his decision was more considered that the other 2 I went on. I’m going with Mr Kumar at New Birkdale clinic, a small private hospital in Rotherham.

When I’ve had my operation today I will upload before and after pictures!

    Wish me luck! Xxxx

I’m 6 weeks post op and I’ve had some days where I love them and days where I hate them. It’s nice to see how they have settled as they were overs as so many girls on her are unders.

I was set on unders to start with for a more ‘natural’ look but I couldn’t falt having overs! I don’t think they look any more unnatural than unders would have done. I really didn’t start to love them until the 8/9 month mark but I am totally in love wit them now! It’s all about the patience chick 🙂 Hope you’re recovery is going well and will add you now hun. I’m torn between 400 and 450, what would you suggest? I’ve seen some 450s that I love but my boyfriend doesn’t want me going “too big” so I have no idea what to do. I’m 5’6, 9 and a half stone, wear a size 10 and I’m currently 34B. Dr Mounir said I have enough breast tissue and has chose high profile for me so I’m happy about that, just so undecided on size!? Don’t want to go too big for my frame but also don’t want to wish I’d gone bigger? I tried on 400, 425 and 450 and liked the 450 even though it didn’t look that big yet the 450s I’ve seen on other girls look pretty huge. So many decisions it’s so difficult lol xx

@jlst Great pick in surgeon 😉 My honest opimion Jess would be to go for the 450’s. I think from your stats they definitely won’t be too big on you. I was 8 and half stone, 5’9, a 32A/B and wear size 8 and I had 375 high profile and I really don’t think mine are too big for me.
You get used to the size of them very quickly, I can’t actually remember that feeling of being flat chested, I feel like I’ve had these boobs forever. Would I go bigger next time? Yes! If i had a bit more weight on me last April (I’ve put a stone on since my surgery, which I am very happy about as I struggle to put weight on) would I have gone bigger? Yes definitely! I think you have the right weight to height ratio to pull 450cc’s off and love them! Dr Mounir really wouldn’t give you something he thought would look ridiculous on your frame so go with the biggest he’s offered you. I promise you will not regret it! Mr Mounir didn’t think he would get 375 in me but I asked him to try hard as that really was the size I wanted and I don’t regret it! Hope this helps your decision making, I know it’s tough to decide what is right to do but just go with your gut feeling. Doesn’t matter how many post op pictures you look at, you can’t ever imagine what yours will look like until you see for yourself xx

Thank you Leigh that’s really helpful! I’m meeting Dr Mounir again next Tuesday so I’m going to show him photos of what I want and see what he suggests again. I’d originally said I wanted to be a D and he suggested 325-400 since I said I didn’t want to go too big, then seeing the pictures and posts about boob greed I’ve totally changed my mind and also tried on 425 and 450 and loved them. So yeah meeting him again to see what his opinion on me going bigger is. If he thinks it’s too big for me then 400s it is, if he thinks it’s fine then I’ll go with the 450s! 20 days to go ? xx

Wow to go from a 36DD to a 34b/c is quite some drop isn’t it? I have lots of friends that say that they lost a lot of size after having children. I do worry that I should of had mine after I had my children but I wanted them now and definitely not ready for babies just yet so just going to have to take that risk 🙂 Did your surgeon say what he think would suit you best, under or overs or has he just thrown it out there for you to decide? xx
