    Hi all,

First post on the forum since joining, just wanted to share my day of surgery with you.

To see my full stats just go to my profile but I’m 5 ft 4 and had 350cc round silicone unders fitted yesterday. I was between an A and a B cup before and Dr Traynor has said I can be expected to go up 3 cup sizes by the time all is settled!

So…surgery day. I was given my admission time of 1pm, arrived just before and was taken straight to my room and told to change into my gown, do a wee sample for pregnancy test and the nurse then took my blood pressure and saturation level.

All very chilled, was told then I’d be left with my mum for a couple of hours so we just relaxed, chatted and watched a bit of Big Bang theory :’).

The first person I then saw was the aneasthetist who asked some questions then sent me back, another nurse popped in to do blood pressure and saturation again, then Dr Traynor was there to mark me up and ask how I was feeling.

If you have him girls, don’t be put off by that cold exterior, he’s a teddy bear on op day, so lovely to me, cracking jokes, easing any concerns I had. I really took to him as my surgeon and I’ve seen so much of his work now and it’s all fab.

Massive perk with Dr Traynor – he doesn’t fit you with drains after surgery! I’ve heard they’re not very comfortable to have removed so that was a big plus for me!

I was taken down to surgery 30 mins after his visit, it was only then that the nerves hit me – I’ve never had an operation in all my 27 years so I was mainly scared of being put to sleep.

You’re in a room just next door to theatre for this so you don’t see your surgeon or the equipment/ operating table etc.

Nurse fitted the cannula and held an oxygen mask over my face, told me to breathe normally.

Then anaesthetist told me step by step what he was injecting me with (pain relief and anti sickness) because he could tell I didn’t want any surprises about being put to sleep. Next was the aneasthetic. He goes ‘right Olivia you will start to fall asleep in the next few seconds…enjoy the flight’ :’) – I managed to say thank you and then I was out like a light.

Woke up what honestly felt like minutes later back in the same room, all done and chewing the nurses ear off, which she loved how easily I came round and how chatty I immediately was.

Few moments later I think they did a few checks, kept sneaking a cheeky look at the new girls jaha then I was wheeled back to my room and very well assisted with sliding back on to my bed.

No pain at this point, they just brought me a jug of water – heads up girls the aneasthetic makes your mouth as dry as a desert for the rest of the day haha so get that water down you!

About an hour later I got through two pots of tea and 1 round of toast. Asked for more pain relief and was brought a codeine tablet right away. The toast made me feel a bit sick so they brought me anti sickness right away too.

Nurses really are fabulous and so so good to you.

End of my stay finally came about 7:30pm and I was made to go to the loo, change with the help of my mum and walk up and down the ward for the nurse. She was happy with my balance so I was discharged, given antibiotics, co-codamol and ibuprofen.

All in all my pain has been great with unders. They affect everyone differently from reading the forum but don’t be put off. Dr Traynor told me there is no difference in pain or recovery time with unders and he said because I didn’t have a lot of breast tissue it’s my best chance of avoiding rippling – I trust his advice completely.

All in all girls I enjoyed my day despite a little discomfort at times. I woke up this morning no pain relief in my system and the pain was so manageable I was pleasantly surprised!

Dr Traynor had a very difficult tattoo to work around with my boobs as well and said the tattoo won’t be cut through but will sit a little higher up on my boob once the implant is in. I can kind of see through the dressing where it has ended up and I’m so relieved and happy with it’s position.

As soon as my swelling has gone down slightly I’ll upload some post op pics xx

Here’s two pics I’ve taken today – 1 day post op. I’m hoping they settle down and I end up with more cleavage but I’m so happy with the size, they actually look bigger in person, can’t wait to get dressings off either as feel like my ‘underboob’ curve is being hidden which in itself will make them look bigger and more rounded x

Thanks @siobhan I’m really happy with my result! Which surgeon have you gone with? Honestly they will have recommended unders to give you the best possible result and the pain is so manageable I wouldn’t worry at all! I’ve been so pleasantly surprised, been moving around absolutely fine today just with a little tightness in chest muscles which is to be expected. You will be fine x

    Your results are brilliant
What size are yours? I’ve just had my pre assessment with surgeon and booking in for June. He recommended 275cc for my petite frame. This surgeon uses drains though.. . I’m not going with mya, although I don’t see why I can’t go for a consultation. How are you finding recovery? I have 2 small children 3yrs and 18 months so will 1 week of help to lift them be enough?

Hi Carrie, been finding recovery no problem, the only issues I’m having today is a slight bit of vomiting as think I’ve exterted myself too much trying to keep up a social life this weekend when I still neee bed rest.

The worst part I’m finding is discomfort from the swelling – not pain it’s just uncomfortable and also major bloating which is infuriating. I struggle to go to the toilet at the best of times so this is my nightmare but I’ve been told it’s a combo of the anaesthetic and the pain killers they give you. Came off cocodamol two days ago, took senakot today so praying this gets more comfortable soon.

I’m back to work tomorrow after 5 days off. As long as your job isn’t too physical you’ll be fine x

Awh I’m thrilled you had a good experience too; they will go down and the pain will pass trust me! I’m two weeks post op now and feeling great, back to my normal self other than the sports bra’s and sleeping upright. I did the same win senokot!! 5 in the space of 3 days and nothing but relief will come and it’s the best day ever when it does!! Get off the pain killers as soon as you’re able would be my best advice with that. Just about to post some two weeks post op pics as got my bandages off today, I’m so happy with how they’re looking. Happy recovery! Xx

Ok so I’ve literally no idea how to post a new topic – can’t even remember how I posted this one!! Very frustrating layout, but I’m now two weeks post op exactly. Had my bandages removed tonight and the nurse is really happy with how I’m healing. Here’s some updated photos for you. Unfortunately I’m a very veiny person so the boobs only seem to have highlighted that. Think I’m going to treat myself to a spray tan on week 6 to lessen their appearance. Other than that I am SO happy with the difference from two weeks ago, they’ve got so much bigger and more well rounded.

They’re really settling in well and I’m in barely any discomfort just slight tightness as they’re yet to drop and fluff. No painkillers needed and I’m going about daily life as normal.

Can finally shower normally after today too!
