Only people that know I had my op is my children and 2 friends. I’ve not told none of my family as I know they’ll be so negative! I’ve just told them I’ve had a bad back and when they notice my boobs I will just say it’s a good push up bra ha!
Some people are judgemental, you have to think about what you want! I needed to have it done for my own reasons. I’m now 12 days post op and honestly it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. Only regret is I didn’t do it sooner!
If it’s what you want don’t let others put you off, I had a partner who said not to have it for years and I wish I hadn’t of listened to him

I think some people just don’t understand what it’s like to live with a part of your body you are unhappy with.

For my self I’ve been extremely unhappy with my boobs ever since school, I have plenty of girl friends with bigger and smaller boobs that aren’t self concious.
Personally I can’t stand looking at my own and they knock my confidence so much.
Luckily I haven’t had any of my friends or family be too judgemental about my choice to have surgery but I’ve had a few comments like “oh I don’t understand why you would want bigger boobs” and I just think exactly you don’t understand…

If this is something you want to do for your self that is all that matters you and your choice.
The important thing to remember is it’s your choice no one else’s, if this is something that will enhance your life and thoughts then don’t let other people’s negative comments or thoughts get to you.

    Xx

Awww. Don’t worry what people think. Sometimes they don’t understand and think you’re rushing into it. Just explain that you’ve done your research and you know the risks. You can take the opportunity to ask if they have questions and educate them if they want to understand it all.. Your friends should be happy for you and not judge you if they’re genuine friends. I’ve told all of my friends that I’m getting them done, it’s nothing to be ashamed of, so I don’t care who knows – the only people i’ve “hid” it from is my team at work as there all men in their 40-60s and I know it would make them feel uncomfortable. But I don’t care who knows as I’m happy I’m doing it for myself and not for anyone else so their opinion doesn’t concern me x

Holly I’m 40 this year and have had this shame since I remember, I’ve raised my kids and now want to do something for me.
I had negative reactions until I explained why and it’s amazing how shocked family we’re when they new how I’ve felt for so many years. Soon changed their opinion.

I am going to be 40 this year, and have decided its time for me now, i have always hated my boobs since around 17, i’ve had two kids lost weight, and have now decided now is the time to do it, But quiet a few people have tried to make me feel guilty for wanting to do it, and spending that much money on myself, and why do you want to do it you are not in your 20’s……I just think we are only here once so do what we want to do, x

You know what stuf your friends. Your body and your boobs have nothing to do with them. It’s tough. You want them to be excited for u. But equally they want to make sure your making the right decision for you and perhaps they think ur boobs are great as they are. As long as you know why you want this and you have really thought it through then it’s ur business. I’m now 5mpo and it’s honesrly not even a topic anymore. I totally forget I’ve had them done. My mum wasn’t impressed at first but in time once you’re recovered, your boobs stop becoming a talking point and normal life resumes. You do what’s right for you! Good luck with your journey. There’s always plenty of support on this forum!
