Op day over! So happy!

So I’m home! It was honestly a good day (which I’m surprised about lol)
My admission was 9am went straight to my room and got changed and went down for surgery at 10am so was nice and quick. I woke up in recovery at 11:30 and felt very tired and drowsy for a couple of hours. Had some toast and tea but really didn’t feel hungry so was a struggle.
The nurses were so lovely and the anaesthetist was great, he really distracted me from the needle and only took 2 attempts to get it in as iv got tiny veins, next thing I knew I was asleep 🙂
The drains were a bit sore and I nearly fainted so the nurse bought me some biscuits to up my sugar levels
All in all a good day, not much pain just achey

Thanks ladies. The pain is starting to kick in now hurting quite a bit, my mum said all the anaesthetic has worn off now that’s why. Really tired though so just got into bed sitting up with all my pillows and actually quite comfy lol let’s hope it lasts xxx

Glad it all went well Jess. I’m starting to feel the nerves now pre op next week and operation the following week x

Thanks Elizabeth. I know everyone says it but it’s honestly fine, everyone Ian so lovely. I was petrified of the general anaesthetic but he was so good he distracted me the whole time and it really helped keep me calm. It’s normal to be nervous though no matter how many people you have telling you it’ll be okay. Just try to keep calm on the day by taking deep breathes, that’s what I did xxx

Hey Hollie and Elizabeth the pain came on quite strong last night so didn’t sle to well as it kept waking me up. I really can’t move or get anything for myself so feeling a bit bad for my mum lol. Keeping on top of my meds so not in a single much pain but still short or breath and uncomfortable. Can’t wait already to get the strapping already haha xxx

Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight, are you having to sleep upright? Did you have to have the drains because you had unders? X
