I had my BA yesterday and was scared the week leading up to it as never been put to sleep before, I thought I was going to be an emotional wreck yesterday morning but surprisingly I was very calm! I found this forum very useful so just wanted to reassure any other girls who might be a bit nervous that it’s all fine.
I had to be there at 7am and was walking to theatre just before 8. The last thing I remember is the anethetist saying you might feel something cold running down your arm and I said I can’t feel anything yet.
The next minute I was waking up in recovery at 9.50 and had had the best sleep ever! Apparently op was finished by 9.20.
I wasn’t in any pain at all yesterday, just tight across my chest as I have a bra and 2 other binder things on which I can’t take off for 1 week!
So everything was fine until I tried to sleep last night… was advised to sleep on my back and slightly upright for 2 weeks, I’m used to sleeping on my side, so thought this might be a problem but didn’t appreciate just how uncomfortable it would be! I had about 8 different pillows propping me up but didn’t get hardly any sleep as had pain in my lower back.
Has anyone got any tips for getting comfortable? Xx

    Hello Kaz,
great investment is a V back cushion and a travel neck pillow! I am 7 days post opp. Sleeping is not the easiest or most comfortable but these have helped me so much!

I had a decent sleep last night but my lower back was bothering me more than anything else, needed to adjust the pillows there a few times and try to get as upright as possible because I kept sliding down. Being very upright meant my neck was off the pillows a bit so a bit more hozizontal which worked pretty well at tricking my mind I was flat in the early hours but that did start to get a bit sore about 7 so I’ve had my travel neck pillow on since which is nice.
    Hope everything improves soon

Put a pillow under your legs. I have mine quite high so I’m slightly sat on it & I’ve not had any issues since xx
