    it bugs me… why do you have to wear them during the surgery?!

    Something to do with the synthetics of other materials used in knickers, causing problems with the equipment or conducting currents or something like that, I think??? Not too sure, but I read somewhere that if we brought 100% PURE Cotton knickers we could wear them instead of paper ones. I’m having my consultation with mr singh and the nurse on thursday, so I can ask them the question and get back to you if this hasn’t been answered by then! x

    I was told about the cotton knickers too so that’s what I brought as I’m also on my period,yet I sstill had to wear paper ones with a maternity pad : ( xx

    I’ve found out the reason why now, I was told its to do with the nylon in Knickers. If your wearing knickers with nylon it can cause burns when they are using the diathermy(not sure on spelling). Diathermy is the instrument that they use to cauterise the blood vessels during surgery to reduce the amount of bleeding. Hope that makes sense.

    i had my op on wed, went to hosp wearing a little black thong thinking i wud b getting paper knickers anyway….was only given a gown a stockings though and told to keep my own knickers on! strange…lol xx
