Hello Girls. I thought I would share my journey with you all as before my surgery this forum really helped and answered so many questions.
I have always hated ‘my bits’ and would never stand naked infront of anyone (not even my boyfriend) because I was so embarrassed. Every time I was naked and looked in a mirror all I could see was the bits that I hated. Sound familiar? Soooooo, I bit the bullet and decided that if I kept it the way it was, I would be unhappy and self conscious for the rest of my life.

Today my life has changed. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and today i stood infront of my boyfriend for the first time ever with no knickers on! ????????

I haven’t felt any pain down there all day! I think it’s still numb from the painkillers from surgery. I’ve felt slightly drowsy all day from the anaesthetic (quite drowsy after the surgery but I’ve felt better as the day has gone on!)
I had a little bit of bleeding, probably the equivalent of half a days worth of blood if you were on a light period.
I came home and had a shower and just lightly sprayed the shower water over it to remove any dried blood and to keep it nice and clean to prevent infection.

Now I’m in bed and maybe starting to get a slight bit of an ache or bruised feeling? I’m a little bit swollen but not even close to as swollen as I thought I would be. I’ve been given painkillers to take but I definitely don’t need them yet.

I’m off to sleep now and will let you all know how I’m feeling tomorrow! I’ll try my best to cover everything but any questions let me know!

I’m 19 years of age and also had Labiaplasty and a Hoodectemy done with Dr Ibrahim yesterday at Mya Fitzroy London. To put it simply I don’t know what I was so nervous about. I’ve been battling with my confidence since I was 15 and finally made the decision to do something about it, with hearing a lot about Mya from friends.

I made my first appointment around the beginning of May in Nottingham and everything happened so quick (which i’m glad about), they told me everything i needed to know as I was slightly clueless due to the lack of information and reviews whilst making me feel totally at ease and making me realise I wasn’t the only one out there. I met up with Dr Ibrahim for the consultation around mid June and although people mentioned there being a language barrier he was a m a z i n g, I couldn’t recommend him anymore if I tried, he understood my confidence issues and reassured me he would change that before i go on holiday.

Before I knew it I was in Mya Fitzroy counting down the hours till surgery, to say the least i was nervous and second thinking my decision. However the staff there were amazing, from my Nurse (Ester) to my anaesthetist (Ruth), they were all so friendly, constantly checking on me, cracking jokes and making sure everything ran smoothly. Im a bit of a wimp when it comes to needles which they totally understood, giving me numbing cream so i didn’t feel any of the injections (totally recommend it to anyone with the same fear). Dr Ibrahim came to see me before my surgery and from then on i was excited to finally have something changed that has been playing in my head for years.

I woke up with no pain whatsoever, Dr Ibrahim informed me that everything had gone smoothly and he was happy with the results. I was taken back to my room and given food straight away as i was starving, they made me go to the toilet before they discharged me also, which is when i looked at the results. i was couldn’t of been happier, it was everything i wanted! Within 2 and a half hours i was discharged and came home.

I am now 1 day post op with minor pain and no blood at all, just a little bruising. the only negative thing to come out of it is the ugly socks they give you! i’d honestly recommend to anyone out there contemplating it to DO IT. So far my experience with Mya has been amazing and my only wish is that id had it done sooner!

I’m now 1 week post op and experiencing more pain than I did on the day of surgery. Stitches are starting to fall out and disappear which is good but I’m still quite swollen. I was out and about 3 days after my surgery but it was a little uncomfortable (but not unbearable) .
Looking quite swollen down there but it’s still only been a week since my operation.
    Will update if anything changes!

How are you getting on? Are you happy with your results? Getting mine done next month with a gyno private hospital but not sure if I should go with a surgeon x

I’m one day post op and I’m already loving the results, even though it’s swollen! I had labiaplasty with Dr Ibraheim also but at First Trust Hospital in Preston. Lovely hospital too.

Hello everyone, I am 27 years old and am considering labioplasty and hoodectomy. I’ve always been self conscious about my bits since I can remember. I’ve even had one guy comment on them before now, which really added to my embarrassment!! I have a long term partner of 8 years and I very rarely will confidently let him see me naked. Apart from the cosmetic side of things, I am unable to wear lace underwear or tight clothing due to the discomfort. I have never had an operation before so I am very nervous even thinking about getting this done!!!!

Hey guys. I am 5 weeks post op and things are great. I was shocked by how easy everything has been. It has been really hard to remember not go swimming or to the gym as i have been pretty much pain free since the operation. I was advised by my patient co ordinator to take arnica tablets one week before and after my op and it worked wonders. The nurse at my 1 week check up was amazed by how little bruising I had.
My advice is to make sure that you have realistic expectations of what is achievable through surgery. My goal was just to reduce the amount of labia hanging between my legs, to be able to wear trousers more comfortably. There has been a lot of swelling to go down so my results have gotten better on a weekly basis. Do not worry about what you first see. Give everything lots of time to heal.

Hi everyone, does anyone have any thoughts on hoodectomy? I have surgery with dr ibraheim in a week and am so nervous. Are you overly sensitive after? I’ve asked him to keep mine hooded as I’m scared of the pain during recovery and being too sensitive after. Would really appreciate anyone’s advice! Thanks girls xx

    Hi Em,

I’m now 2 days post op and am happy to answer any questions you have. I’ve never had an opp before so was super nervous before, especially for the anaesthetic. The nurses were so lovely and took such good care of me which definitely helps! I was quite sick from the anesthetic, which I’ve heard can be quite common. However, was back to normal the next day, now just slightly uncomfortable and sore but hoping that will go down over the next week. Happy to answer any questions you may have x

I was just wondering if Dr Ibraheim offers the opportunity to have this done under local anesthetic? Most places seem to do it under local, but I noticed a lot of the posts related to his surgery mentions going under general.

    Thanks

    Hi all

I am 10 weeks post surgery and everything has been well for the past 4-5 really, except I seem to have two scars on my clit hood one at each side and they itch a lot, and have been itching continously throughout the 10 weeks. Funnily enough its usually on a night when I am at home.

Has anyone else experience scar itching? I had my labia minora done too and that hasn’t itched for a while
