    Hi girls,
I am 2 weeks-ish away from my surgery date and thought it would be better to start prepping stuff for recovery period – e.g. special pillow (someone suggested to me wedge pillow?) – anyone else got any more suggestions?

Thanks! Very excited yet nervous about the op!

Ice packs! They will be your best friend post op to help with swelling and pain! And a hot water bottle for your back! All those pillows and sleeping upright have seriously done my back in and a hot water bottle feels amazing!
I would get comfy leggings or jogging bottoms too as the post op bloat is pretty serious! I’ve been and raised Holland and Barrett today as I can’t do any of my jeans up.

I would also get some face wipes and baby wipes- they are a life saver cos of how oily you get after op!

These were what I’ve used the most since my op xx

    Hi!
I’m 3 weeks away so I’m in the same position! But I’ll list a few things I’m getting from advice of PO girls on here 🙂

    V shaped pillow (amazon £8.99)
Koolpak ice packs (amazon about £5 for a few)
Standard painkillers for when the strong ones run out
Tight hair bobbles so I don’t have to keep re-tying my hair up (probably won’t be able to for a few days)
Zip up tops/jackets/dressing gown (nothing over the head to put on)
Obviously post op bras (I’ve bought a macom one from on here and I’ll be getting a M&S one) but obviously you can get yours wherever you want 🙂

    Hope this helps! Xx

@shivvyy15 I’ve seen someone else mentioned about the oiliness! How come the op makes you oily? (I’m already oily enough don’t fancy being any worse than I am) haha! Xx

I’ve never been so oily in my life! I usually only have a touch of it in my t-zone but all my face, chest and hair is minging! I’ve been living on the blue miscellar water for oily skin and the cetaphil facial wash for oily skin and it’s helped curb any breakouts so far! I’m not usually a spotty girl but I’ve had a few come up on my chest and cheeks! I’ve heard it’s to do with the meds and GA?! X

@shivvyy15 oh no 🙁 I have an oily T zone but I’m quite spot prone as well since I came off the pill years ago my skins not been the same since! Hope it doesn’t freak my face out! Bad enough being in pain without all that as well haha! X

I’m 3 days post op and have the most oily face ever! I’ve been cleaning about 4 times a day,my hair wasn’t any better,it’s been washed today first time since surgery and I will never take a hair wash for granted again ha! I found having it plaited either side helped a bit xx
