Public transport, please help!

My BA was originally planned for the 20th Feb which was a Friday so my dad was going to collect me from London, but now it’s been brought forward it’s now taking place on a Wednesday so don’t think I will be able to be collected. I’ve read how they don’t recommend taking public transport on your way back home, but I was wondering why they are against it? And has anybody else taken a train back home after being discharged? Can’t think of a way home otherwise lol! Please help xx

Hi hun, I had my surgery yesterday and couldn’t imagine getting public transport, I could barely walk to the care. I was also really faint as I’d hardly eaten all day so that probably made me a lot worse. I would really recommend trying to get a lift from someone hun xx

Were you a day case at all babe? I don’t know what to do!! I was assuming because of maybe the train moves so fast if it caused extra pain xx

Babe i advise against it strongly. As you will be tired in pain. I could barely walk i was so tired an faint from the anesthetic you may even be sick from motion xx

I’m overnight case & I’m doing train it’s the only way, but this is my 4th boobie job so I’m used to it now x

Yeah I was a day case hun, honestly try and get a lift because I was in sooo much pain xx

Are you a day or night case Hun? And what times your admission?x

Your first under the muscle op isn’t nice but after that I think it’s ok x

I would try and get a lift Hun no way u will manage on your own in a train xx

Would not recommend public transport apart from a taxi with someone with you.

No u need to be with someone and nooo transport I found it hard six days later on a packed train not good at all. Plus all the drugs u would have no u won’t be able to,

dont get a public transport, unless its a taxi but ask him to drive super slow. my fiance was with me and he drove me home and even though he was driving like a granny i could feel all the bumps and bents on the road -.-
i seriously doubt they will let u leave the clinic by yourself! i was super sore, sick and my blood pressure was like a yo-yo so id either b fine one minute and all of a sudden im almost faint. so yeah for your safety hun, please try to find someone to pick you up xx good luck!

Hiya they won’t let you leave on your own. But my and my husband stayed over at a closeby premier inn and got the train home, then taxi from station to home and it was completely fine, but I have had a pain free/ low pain recovery x

I’m Doing train no other choice if I’m that bad which I doubt il be in a hotel. My fellas working awayx

I’m not going on my own, I will have someone leaving with me but she’s getting the train down with me the day before. I’m an over night stay so the anaesthetic would have worn off by then. I live about 2 hours from London so a taxi is completely out the question xx

I live 2 hours away from london too. Train was fine no pain at all, so don’t be worried 🙂

I hope so Abbie, thank you. I think a train would be less pain than a car but there’d be no pot holes or sharp turns to hit! Xx @abbie11

I definitely found that Eve. I had no pain at all on train, was perfect, just make sure you don’t go in rush hour and make sure you definitely get a seat. I had a tiny bit of pain in the taxi as car was a lot rougher than the train xx
