question about piercings

I wonder if anyone can help, ive had my tragus piercing for nearly 6 months it still hasnt healed completely .. I dont know wether i should take it out now a week before the op or on the day, i dont really want to take it out for long because ive heard it will heal up really quickly .. Anyone had the same problem? Xx

I would leave it in until the day then ask your nurse! I was worried about my tongue closing up so took it out a few minutes before going down to theatre then put it straight back in after and it was fine! Also on the way down I realised I still had an ear piercing in so the nurse said she can just put tape over it and it was fine! So maybe they will be able to do that with your Tagus 🙂 x

I had a plastic bar in my Tragus and helix. I asked them and they said it was absolutely fine I got mine from tattoo uk your deffo not allowed metal bars x

i think they are quite strict with piercings I was a the London clinic. Not sure about the others but I just made sure I had the plastic ones in as I rang and asked and they said that’s fine but deffo no metal Atall anywhere though . Tattoo uk sell the bars and will change them for you aswell if youbhave one local x

Don’t take it out till the day.. I was more worried about my nose piercing closing up than i was about the operation 🙂 I was in London Fitzroy and that was the first question i asked, i had a lovely male nurse who said he would tape it up for me as long as i signed a form saying i know the risks! I didn’t even change it for a plastic one just had my normal silver stud in x

ok thanks girls!! ive ordered a plastic one anyway 🙂 yes annabel i had it changed for the first time about 2 weeks ago to a loop its a nightmare for healing though aint it! xx

Better safe than sorry I was stressing about my piercings aswell till they said it was ok for plastic ones. I’ve had mine for over a year and they can still be sore and would close up in the straight away if I left them out! They checked my piercing a couple of times so came across quite strict about it all Xx

aw do they! ill change mine to the plastic one then! mine is still quite red see, gets irritated to easily doesn’t it :/ xx

I was at Preston and I put plastic bars in and the nurse was absolutely fine, just stuck a bit of tape over them so the surgeon knew they were there.

I am currently in the Fitzroy, 2 hours post op and i had a plastic nose retainer in and they werent hally with it and wanted to take it out but eventually just taped over it and i had to sign a form saying if i get burns from diamerthy or whatever its called, i take full responsibility

I signed it but it was plastic anyway so i dont know why i did need to haha x

Don’t take them out ✋? my nipples were healed 2 years I had them done and they healed in the time of my op 🙁 get a plastic bar my local piercer sells jewelry mine was £3 and he charged me £1 to change mine , mine was my helix same as yours it’s not healed right they didn’t bother just taped it xx
