Sorry i kno this has probably been asked a million times and everyone heals differently, im just wondering how people have found recovery with overs. Im PO day 5, im alone with a 1yr old so my mam kindly offered to let us stay with her until im over the worst so she could help me out, but even though my pain isnt constant, i still cant lift my little girl so mam is basically doing everything for me and its taking its toll on her. Im just really after a rough idea of how long i can expect to be so useless!! Wondering when people found they could lift/cuddle your little ones? When could you drive? When could you go from sitting to standing (+ vice versa, right now its like everytime i get up/sit down i get massive pains in my right incision, if im sat still/have been walking and loosened up abit, im pretty ok) without pain? When could you put your own hair up? When could you sleep lying down? When did you feel normal again? Anyones stories would be appreciated! Thanks x

hiya hun i am 6 days post op with 300/320 unders and just starting to be able to sleep 8 hours a night again and feel half normal. i can do my own hair although it hurts a bit under my arms, i managed to bathe on my own yesterday as well and shave my legs and underarms everything just takes a bit longer than usual. unfortunately i don’t have children so can’t comment on that one. i am sleeping with my head and upper back propped up on some big cushions and my V neck pillow, and the only issue i have sleeping is slight back pain so i am readjusting myself about 4/5 times a night but falling back to sleep straight away. i feel less useless now nearly a week on but still need help from my boyfriend, can’t do any housework or any bending or lifting still, i was told at least 2 weeks before any light lifting or non strenuous activites like washing up, cooking etc but everyone is different, don’t feel the need to push yourself! you’ll know when you’re ready everyone’s healing process is different, hope you start to feel better soon! 🙂 xx
