So I have my op tomorrow, iv just been reading (stalking) this forum and came across a post about road works near the hospital. Has anyone had their op here within the last few days who could tell me if they struggled or not?? Do I need to set off early and will it be easy to find the hospital if I have to go a different way?
Thanks ladies any help would be great xxxxx

These roadworks have been going on for a while and I think they’ve caused a few issues for some! I had mine at Pall Mall (was originally Preston) so can’t speak from experience, just what I’ve heard. Diversions have caused trouble too xxx

Yes still on – I got taxi from station and driver said he’d have to take me a long way round, and my friend who fetched me had to do the same though. She said diversion is really well signposted, just allow a little longer xx

Oh so there is a diversion. That’s good cuz I was panicking we would end up lost lol. How much longer would you say I should allow?? Roughly xx

I was there on the 24th July. My husband drove me (he’s a HGV driver) and he came off the motor way and was there within a few minutes. There is road works yes and it says road closed just off a small roundabout where there’s some new builds going up. You can still turn left down there and follow it all the way up to the temporary traffic lights. (There’s speed bumps all the way down that road). You will go under a bridge where the traffic lights are and you will turn right literally just as you get past the bridge. The first trust hospital sign is hidden away from road view unless your looking for it. The road feels like your driving up someone’s drive as there’s a house on the corner. Good luck Hun. Xx

Your receptionist should have gave you the directions to follow once you come off the motorway and it takes you straight there. But all the roadworks were when i was there was just a ‘no through’ siggn but you could still go through it. Wasnt a diversion as such x

I had my op last Friday & got through fine it said the road was closed but my partner just went through anyway and you could access the hospital no problem x
