Just wondering if anyone has come across claiming sick pay for your time off?
Iv had to take my 2 weeks off as holiday but as I’m a hairdresser I’m commision based so il be loosing out.
Anyone done it or know if it’s possible.

Have a chat with your employer & see what advice they can give. Before speaking with mine I booked off 2 weeks annual leave, but when I told my boss I’d need to be on light duties when I return, he asked me why. When I told him I was having an elective operation he told me to still take it as sick because I’m not fit for work & I shouldn’t have to take annual leave. I was shocked! It’s worth having the conversation!

Same here – I just talked to my manager saying I needed to take holidays because of a surgery, and she said that I was silly and can just take sick pay for a week, and see how I feel after!
I’m not sure how it will work if you don’t get sick pay, but everyone is entitled to statutory sick pay. I booked holiday then was given a sick note which they had to honour as it’s a legal document so was able to claim my holiday back xx
