Hi girls when did everyone go on the sunbeds for the first time and what did you out over your scars? I’m 15 days post op and feel so pale! 🙁 xx

I got told off for using the sunbed off my nurse!! Absolutely no sunbed or gym for 6 weeks.. Though I think some of the nurses are more stricter than others. I can’t attend my 6 week check, due to work and the nurse being at different MYA locations so I’ll be nearly 8 week for my check up, but I will be doing some gym work and some sunbed sessions at my 6 week date 🙂 Off to London next Friday for the weekend, May have to have a spray tan x

At my preop last night the nurse said I cant go on from now (11days til my surgery) and then six weeks afterwards haha!! I asked why I couldnt go on before and she said because they want my skin fresh and not dry!! Seriously???

The skin does really dry out after surgery, I don’t use sunbeds and where I’ve had go to so long without a bath or shower after my breast reduction, its so dry and awful looking. The strong advise is there for a reason x

It’s just a precaution on their part its not ” for a reason ” … I have had 3 c sections , which is a lot longer and more major surgery than a breast op and I was back on the beds 7 days post op with all 3 without my c section wounds even covered , they say keep the wound covered after so it doesn’t darken with the uv light tanning it that’s all !
There’s no link at all between an incision and a sunbed causing abt medical problem !!!!

I said in regards to skin condition, not incisions.
