Hi, just had my second consult with my surgeon yesterday (first was on skype) to discuss implant type/size/surface and I opted for textured round 300cc. When choosing the surface of the implant I had no idea what to go for as they both have pros/cons medically. I chose textured as he said 90% of patients go for textured so I just went with that but after researching it I’ve heard they won’t drop as much due to how they grip and this is why teardrop are all textured to keep they in place? I was very undecided on round or teardrop as well as this and went for round but still thinking teardrop might be best. So yeah was just wondering if smooth implants dropped more and therefore looked more relaxed? Also does the smooth/textured affect how they feel and look? Thank you ☺️

Lots of surgeons have stopped recommending textured because of the link to BIA- ALCL

Higher risk of capsular contracture with smooth implants, it’s only allergen textured which pose a risk hence the recall Xx

@emma My surgeon is Dr Nassab so not MYA, it’s so hard 😟 I’m just worried the textured round won’t drop and look stuck on and too high and round looking which makes me want teardrop but also worried about the rotation

Interesting, I have 250cc unders, round mod plus implants. I thought they were smooth but on looking at my card, I think they are textured. 🤔. I am 4.5 months post op and one still sitting higher then the other. Am hoping they even up. I think the sagging is affected by the size of the implant, leaving them unsupported and the firmness of the skin too.

Hi Kelsey, I have textured implants which my surgeon recommended for me due to them sticking a bit more sort of like velcro – as I had some sagging this would stop my implant slipping down as much. I was super worried about them not dropping enough or feeling hard/unnatural as I’d read others concerns claiming this. When comparing both types of implants in person they are a lot firmer than smooth implants too. But I must say honestly mine are amazing at only 12 weeks post op they look & feel very natural with lots of movement and very soft to touch. So in that sense I would not worry, hope this helps as I found it hard to get feedback from girls with textured as most on here seemed to have smooth!

I had Allergan implants by at MYA by Mr. Traynor. I’m trying to find out if they are the textured ones as it was a long time ago and I cant remember. Can anyone help, I dont want a consultation call back, I want an email or phone number.
