Uneven after surgery. I keep being told to wait. Started by: Maya

Hi girls. I had my surgery 6 weeks ago now. Teardrop unders 300cc. I have a very small frame.

Since day one I noticed a difference in the size of the breasts so thought to myself this is probably pre-op asymmetry. I thought it was weird how the incisions were at completely different angles and completely different levels to each other. My right breast is much higher (incision and implant) but it was difficult to tell the extent of it as it swelled up way more than the left to start with. I followed every single instruction given.
Everyone just kept saying wait until 6 week. I broke down to the nurse on my 2 week appointment and even asked to see my surgeon earlier at 3 weeks (I was given an appointment and saw him at 5 weeks).

My surgeon is lovely but then I realised his intention was to place the incisions at the same level and the fact they’re in different places was not something planned. That really worried me that his intentions were to have them at the same level. I’m just not sure why they look the way they look. I’ll attach some photos for you guys to see. I’m generally really upset as it’s taking a negative toll on my life.

I’ll attach photos. My pre-op asymmetry has nothing to do with this. The implants were just placed at different levels.

I’ve now been given exercises to do to help drop my left breast. I guess my question is, has anyone had this much asymmetry that corrected itself and the high breast “dropped and fluffed” after 6 weeks?

I’m sorry you’re having to go through this. I’m playing the waiting game at the moment as well as my right side is much larger than my left. It’s so difficult just being told to wait and see what happens. You put so much trust in your surgeon and believe he will do the best for you, so it’s upsetting to hear that he may have made a mistake. I know there’s always revision surgery but it means having a whole new operation and playing the waiting game all over again. I hope the exercises they have given you work and your higher side starts to drop so they are more in line x

Tor, if your problem is size I’m sure it’ll even out eventually, size usually corrects itself.
Yeah I asked him why he placed one lower and whether it was because of where the folds are, his response was no they’re both 10cm below the nipple. I thought oh dear they’re not but I didn’t say anything. I just really really hope the right one drops because I just look ridiculous right now.
Like I’m not fussy at all, first surgeon I liked and went with, listened to his recommendation as to what I should have etc and all I said was my one fear is to look wonky. Oh well

Hi darling thanks for your response. I’m sorry you’re not happy. Yes your left breast (one on my right looking at the photo) looks smaller for sure. Did they not offer you different sizes on your consultation?
Everyone is asymmetrical but you’d expect your surgeon to tell you you’ll need a different size in each if they think it’ll be that obvious. I’m upset my surgeon never even mentioned that to me. It’s not like he mentioned it and I said no, like nothing at all.
My surgeon is Mr Mashhadi, he is reallly lovely though and he spent so much time with me etc I just hoped my incisions were at the same level and that I was recommended different sizes for each breast. Let me know how your appointment goes best of luck xxxx

Really sorry you are going though this ladies. I feel for you. I’m 7 days post op, so a couple of weeks after you Billy and my left one is so much higher while my right has gone down in swelling and the implant is more in the lower breast so it’s even more noticeable. Was advised today by the nurse at my check up to get a band to put across to help it. Have any of you used them?

Hey Billy and Victoria, my right incision has lowered down slightly so I’m a bit more optimistic that it’ll improve. However it’s still obviously smaller than the left… nothing to do about that I guess I’ll just live with it I suppose. What implants did you girls get? My surgeon gave me exercises I think they’re helping with dropping. I had unders so was told to keep a band on for 6 weeks… I’m now 8wpo so not wearing it anymore. 1 and 3 weeks is sooo early mine changed loadssss and are much better now xx

Hi Maya. So glad you’ve had a bit of improvement. Hopefully they will keep improving. I’ve read of people evening out at 3,6 and even 9 months. Hopefully none of us will have to wait that long! Ive just ordered the band. My surgeon taped me across and round the back but that came off yesterday at my 7 day check with the nurse and she advised me to get a band. I’m just worried about how tight to have it? Any advice will be appreciated please hun. I had 400 cc overs and was a 36A\B to start with x

Hi Victoria, don’t worry at all just put it on so there’s enough pressure but not too much that you damage the skin, you’ll figure it out when you get it. I used to put gauze under my armpits because it was too much friction and it damaged my skin. It’s fairly obvious you’ll get the hang of it xxxx

@dazzelea I’m so pleased for you. Not that you have to go through it all again but that at least they recognised there is a problem and you can get it fixed. How do you feel? Fingers crossed you get one soon. The waiting game is such a pain and you are quite far post op now arent you. Hopefully they will do it soon hun. Keep us posted xxx

    @mahawy
Thanks so much for the advice. I have tried it for 5 minutes last week and not too tight but it really stung at the bottom of my cleavage at the point where the implant seems to be wedged and can’t get down further. I took it off, I was scared I was gonna do some damage. I woke up today though and my higher left has changed a tiny bit! ???. It looks a bit rounder in the cleavage side. Fingers crossed it’s on the move x

    @victoriaxxxx
haha I doubt 5 mins will do much but you’re right it feels right at the bottom when you wear it. If I were you and this concerned I’d ask to see my surgeon! Completely understandable if you’re worried. Because if you need to wear the band then now is the time. You have overs to people worry about bottoming out with those. If I were you I’d definitely ask my surgeon and if he says wear it and something goes wrong at least you followed their advice you know…

You’re soooo early on in recovery anyway your high one will drop for sure. Best advice I got is to stop obsessing. I did that but now I have a new problem my left implant is moving lol going to see my surgeon tomorrow! This has definitely been a roller costee ride for me xxx

@mahawy haha I know. I knew that 5 mins would have done zilch ?. But it stung so bad and I thought I don’t want to damage them and then he says it’s my fault! At least if I’m advised by him to wear it then the outcome is on him. It really is so high up and just not budged an inch. I just compared my pics and it’s still the same ?. I’ll upload them and show you if that’s ok and you can tell me what you think. I actually hate my boobs right now. They feel soooo ugly. They are still weird small pointy shapes from the side with no underboob ?.
Oh no bless you. Are they not meant to move at all then? Do you mean like you can actually pull it away from the breast tissue and get your fingers behind it. Or do you mean moving position in the breast just overall? There’s so much to look out for isn’t there? I haven’t a clue what’s normal or not. That’s why this forum is so invaluable. Good luck hun. Let me know how you get on x

@victoriaxxxx yes I see what you mean but believe me photos are way worse than reality! Also I’d definitely email photos to your coordinator. I really think you should be wearing the band full time but obviously speak to your surgeon first so at least they don’t say you didn’t follow advice. I sent my photos and typed up my concerns to my coordinator 2 weeks post op and she forwarded my email to my surgeon and he responds with instructions. Send photos and type up your concerns and ask about the band and ask her to email your surgeon. He’ll either give advice or say he wants to see you. It’s a win win situation so at least you have some reassurance. I felt way better after seeing my surgeon. It’s true I’m not 100% happy but at least you know someone’s looking after you.

So my left implant feels like it moves or kinda slides lol when I lie on the bed to the left side. It’s like a gurgling bubbling sensation? So worried because they’re teardrops lol this maybe what rotation feels like, my god why am I so unlucky. We’ll see what happens tomorrow xx

@mahawy Thanks so much hun. That’s really great advice. I’ll do that in the morning. My coordinator is soooo lovely. Hopefully she can give me advice and inform him. It literally hasn’t budged an inch. And as my boobs have softnened lower down and across the top it just looks like my old teeny boob is hanging off a big round boulder ? lol. I’ve seen a few people’s photos on here with similar and the pocket wasn’t big enough so I really hope it isn’t that. Time will tell ?? My surgeon is a really good one though so can’t see him making that kind of mistake but I guess you never know hey?
Oh no hun. Bless you. God you haven’t had it easy have you. That sounds like such a weird feeling to have ?. Def doesn’t sound right so it’s good to get it checked. How is the is the asymmetry now? Any better? Even with it your boobs still look great ??? Do you think this problem could be linked to the different ways they were placed? Everything crossed for you that it’s not rotation. Let me know how you get on tomorrow. Good luck xxx

@victoriaxxxx hey hun so just saw Mr Mashhadi, he’s so reassuring and he knows what he’s doing it’s just so easy to stress out when you don’t know. He said it’s fine the implant is just settling in the pocket and nothing is rotated. That’s why I’m telling you email your surgeon because only he knows what he did. All the nurses and coordinators are fantastic but your surgeon will be the one to tell you what to do. I’ll just wait it out and see how it goes. To be fair my breasts are much more even he just showed me all my photos it really does change a lot but because we keep looking at them we can’t see changes. I’ll show you photos when I’m back home. @littlemisscooper Hi doll. I think it’s important to update those threads because otherwise people will definitely freak out. So basically they’re not perfect yet but I’m at 9 weeks now and they DRAMATICALLY changed and they’re still changing. I think people don’t prepare you for how long the wait actually is. You think you go into surgery then a couple weeks of settling in and you’re done. Anyway here’s a more up to date pic. Still not perfect but I’m more optimistic. Hope it helps.

@mahawy Aww so pleased for you hun. Glad it not rotation or any other issue. Wow they definitely have evened out more haven’t they. They look great!!! I bet you are sooooo relieved! ???
Well I tried to get hold of my co ordinator twice but she hasn’t got back to me so I’m a little frustrated ?. I’m gonna stalk them tomorrow as I need to get my concerns noted down. My surgeon is on holiday until the end of next week which I knew. My leftie still hasn’t changed shape at all. I’m basically 3 weeks now. I’ve took a pic every 5 days and it’s not budged so much as an inch. I made a collage pic and can see that it’s in the same position as day 1 (except for swelling at the top) so I’ll keep doing that until I see him to show him. I’ll suggest emailing over to them and see what they say. It literally gets to a point in my cleavage then looks wedged and then my breast angles away from it diagonally. Like I can’t get down more, hope it’s not a pocket issue? I keep getting a sharp stinging pain in the place the implant stops so I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing? Wether that’s it moving down or where there is an issue? The right is getting lower and rounder though so the difference is getting even more noticeable .
I’ll let you know how I get on x

I’m now 5 weeks and still concerned as my right breast is still much noteably higher and hasn’t really changed from the start. The incision on this side is also much higher and I’m worried it’s a pocket issue as I can’t see how the breast will be able to drop any lower. Got my 6 week post op check next week so will mention it then.

Hi Kayla, there are lots of positive stories on here, and also a lot of the post op problems that people mention are part of the normal healing process.
However it is a forum to be open and honest, and if people have concerns it’s nice to chat to others who may have help and advice. Don’t let it put you off as loads of girls on here have amazing results.

@billyboots did you speak to your surgeon? I’d also drop an email so it’s in writing. There’s no need to stress on your own, you need to feel supported! Could take up to 6 months hun, mine aren’t perfectly symmetrical either but the problem when you stare at them for too long you see things that other people consider natural discrepancies and hate them because of it. It would be ideal to have identical breasts but no ones breasts are, mine still aren’t, right one slightly smaller and higher but I’ve accepted it and in reality no one can tell, it’s just we stare at them for so long we see everything! it’s a state of mind I think. deffo speak to your surgeon xxx

@kayla123 unfortunately this is what you get when you “research”. Apologies if our sincere conversations about how uncomfortable we are with our bodies have “put you off” but there are plenty of happy ads with girls running in the sun smiling that you can look at, except they’re paid for it and it’s not always real. I feel your message is insensitive, this is a forum for girls to support each other through good and bad experiences so apologies if our “negativity” and experiences are not meeting your expectations.

Hello Maya, I’m happy for your change, they’re looking amazing! I’m on a waiting game too really. I’m having the exact same issue as you had with yours. Mine are compeltley different sizes too. I’m 23 days (just over three weeks) post op. I’ve shared my concerns with my coordinator, and I’m being seen to next week. Apparently mine look normal, however a nurse told me that my shaping was different on my left. My right breast is a lovely shape and size, and is falling into the centre. Unfortunately my left boob looks so much smaller and is drifting to the side. I just wondered if there were any girls here who have experienced this or know what my alternative options are and if I should be concerned for how my boobs look at the moment? Because in all honesty, I don’t see them settling or becoming the same size and shape and it’s scaring me a lot. Any information or advice would be very much appreciated. I’ll attach a file now xxxx

Oh, I was also told I’m small framed, so I was concerned I was bottoming out or the chest muscle wasn’t supporting the implant. I had 355cc unders, so I’m just concerned there isn’t any space perhaps in the left side. If anything, it’s left me feeling more self conscious than I was before ! But after seeing your picture, I have a little bit of hope xxx

I couldn’t fault my surgeon one bit, He told me the operatio went very smoothly. I just concerned that perhaps i needed a bigger cc on one side if my left breast was slightly smaller to begin with. But I guess it’s very early days xx

@jesssimmons1 hi hun congrats on getting through the first bit! No one really prepares you for the emotional rollercoaster. Yours still look a bit swollen so I wouldn’t worry at all! And truly when I looked at the photo you posted I thought they looked brilliant then I tried to see what you’re saying and I got what you’re worried about. They look fantastic!! We’re used to seeing our breasts before surgery as we’ve been looking at them all our lives so we don’t see the asymmetry, and they’re just enhanced once augmentation is done. I think you still have lots of healing to do so I wouldn’t at all worry. When I relaxed and stopped taking photos I eventually started to love them because you’ll find that no one really sees the imperfection you see. Also don’t worry about bottoming out as it can’t physically happen if you have unders, because the muscle is holding them up. I really think you’ll be so please when you heal. My 3 week mark I was so miserable lol looking back now I remember being obsessed. I really think they’ll look fab and trust me after you see your surgeon you’ll feel loads better. Best of luck xxx

Forgot to say, my right side healed much slower than the left. I’m right handed and my pen major muscle was strong and wouldn’t relax. Once your muscle recovers from surgery I’m sure the swelling will go down and they’ll look more similar

Hi. I’m 4 months post op and my right sidebar is a lot higher and flatter than the left, it also seems closer to my armpit too. I didn’t have my surgery done through MYA. My surgeon has said I need to have the incision made bigger, the implant taken out and stitches inside the chest muscle to stop the implant sitting high, then insert the implant. My recovery was so painful first time round so I’m pretty nervous about this. Does anyone know why it happens? I any help but think my surgeon has placed the implant in the wrong place? I hope everyone is healing well and happy with theirs now xx

Hi all, having the same issue, ones very noticeably bigger! I am only 2weeks PO but it seems to be so different. Did yours seem to even out in the end? The nurse said its quite common, I did have slight asymmetry before, but was told it wasn’t enough to have different sized implants.
