Recovery can be a rough ride for some after your procedure. This isn’t necessarily because of pain or discomfort; it’s mainly due to the fact that you need to rest and do as little as possible. Ok, yes, this sounds amazing but for the majority of us it comes as a massive shock to the system, No work, no gym, no socialising and no housework. So what can you do to stay entertained and occupied during your initial days of healing? We’ve got a list of the 6 best things for a MYA girl to do that will make time fly:
1. Duh – Gorge on TV
Find a good series or boxset to watch. Normal everyday life often gets in the way when it comes to a TV series or box set, so what better way than to waste a few hours relaxed on the sofa catching up on back to back episodes. MYA Forum users have recommended the following shows:

2. Spring Clean your Cosmetics
Go through your cosmetics, makeup, moisturisers – the works! Tip them out on your bed and only keep the things you actually use more than once a month or that are still usable. You may not know this but makeup has a use by date. Check your products, it will usually state beside the ingredients with a little picture (that looks like the below image) with a number in it. From opening, this is how long you have to use it. It can range from 3 months to 24 months.

Cream Blush and Eye shadow
– 6 to 12 months
Powder Blush and Eye shadow
– 1 year
Eyeliner and Lip liner Pencils

3. Curl Up With a Book
Read a book- sounds crazy but how often do you get the chance to read a book from cover to cover without being disturbed or feeling guilty that you should be doing something else?

Go through your photos on your phone – you won’t believe the amount of rubbish you have stored on there: cute puppy photos or even screenshots of group conversations that could ruin lives. Have a clear out while taking a trip down memory lane.

5. Learn Something New
It could be anything. Take an online course? Learn to knit? Learn to meditate? Watch a YouTube tutorial on baking (food or the makeup kind). The internet is your Oyster!
6. Plan a Vacation
It can be really difficult when it comes to booking a holiday. From deciding where you want to go to what time of year – all while fitting in with your budget. Being house bound and relaxed is the perfect opportunity to research locations and best times to go weather wise. (No want wants to go to turn up with your bikini in hurricane season or a ski resort with no snow). There are some great online deals at the moment and if you call around travel agents they will do the work for you all over the phone getting quotes from the comfort of your bed or sofa.
