Nose reshaping, also known as rhinoplasty or more commonly known as a nose job, is one of the most impactful cosmetic procedures around. The confidence it brings can be wonderfully lifechanging. NOSE RESHAPING SURGERY
Nose reshaping can be an extremely rewarding procedure for both men and women as long as expectations are realistic. There are three main types of rhinoplasty:
- Standard rhinoplasty
- Tip rhinoplasty
- Septo-rhinoplasty
A SIMPLE & SAFE PROCEDURE
Rhinoplasty is performed under a general anaesthetic. During surgery an incision is made inside or around the nose to separate the soft tissues from underlying structures so that they can be repositioned or reshaped. In some cases, cartilage can be taken from another part of the body to help build a new profile.
Standard rhinoplasty is when the incisions are made inside the nostrils so no scars are visible. The surgeon will need to cut through the bone so the nose will effectively be broken. Tip rhinoplasty, as the name states, is for people who are just wanting the lower part of the nose reshaped. A small incision will need to be made between the nostrils for this procedure. Septo rhinoplasty amends the shape of the septum, the tissue that separates the nostrils. This type of rhinoplasty is often used to correct breathing difficulties. Incisions for this procedure can be made inside the nostrils, the same as standard rhinoplasty. This means no scaring will be visible. Rhinplasty can last around 2 hours depending on the type of procedure you are having.
QUICK RECOVERY
You may need an overnight stay in hospital and possibly two weeks off work . You will have a splint covering your nose, protecting it and keeping it in place for a week. Your nose will be swollen and bruised for a couple of weeks and you would need to avoid any activities that could injure your nose for a few months.
