An increasing number of women considering breast enhancement surgery are now opting for a combined breast lift and augmentation procedure, experts report.
Indiana-based plastic surgeon Dr Gus Galante said that while breast enlargement increases fullness, a lift can also rectify notable sagging for a more youthful shape.
"Many women decide on a breast lift to rejuvenate sagging breasts that result from pregnancy, age, or weight loss," he explained.
"Sometimes, either the position or the volume of the breast is the main concern, but these two factors are so closely related that in most cases, women sooner or later want to address both."
According to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, a breast lift or mastopexy is a popular procedure among women who have stopped having children and want to improve sagging of the breasts which commonly results from pregnancy and nursing.
