    Hey Amber,
Your admission time is the time you need to get to the hospital for. My admission time was 9am and I went down for surgery at around 11:30am. I’d advise to have your bed all set up for when you get home and maybe have a few glasses/cups/bowls at counter level. I also moved things in my fridge that I needed to a lower shelf to make it easier for myself for when I was home alone. Also a good idea for after surgery is to wear shoes you can just slip on and a hoodie! xxx

    Hey,
Oh okay, will I be waiting around for ages before I even go down? I’m so nervous, I’m even scared for the bloody cannula! Got so many mixed emotions like I want it to hurry up so I actually have boobs haha but I don’t because I’m scared of the actual procedure of everything xxx

I know you’re not with MYA from your profile so may be a little different for you but it goes so quickly waiting. I think it goes quick because the nurses are in and out with testing your blood pressure and getting you to fill things out, then the anesthetist comes down and has a chat with you for a bit and then your surgeon will be down to draw on you. The whole day for me went soooooooo quick! I had my cannula fitted when I was laying on the operating table, the anesthetist was so good that I didn’t even feel it! They all made me feel so comfortable that I didn’t even feel nervous!

Have you had your pre-op with the nurse? xx

Hey Amber. Like Holly said you wont be waiting too long. My admission time was 11am and I was taken for surgery at 12:30ish. Within 10 minutes of getting in my room all the doctors were in and out so I didn’t have time to worry about anything. I paid for internet for my ipad and never actually got chance to use it as it was over so quick. The cannula was put in as I went through to theatre and I would say it was less painful than an injection or taking blood. It went really quick. They try not to have you waiting too long you will be fine.

They put the cannula in then probably within the next minute they put the liquid through. I didnt recall much after that maybe 20 secs.
