I thought it was 6 weeks, I know it’s legs but could still end up putting pressure on your incisions,n especially if you lift heavy. If I was you I would speak to one of the nurses to double check x

i was told 6 weeks for any heavy lifting!! which seems so lng when you go gym a few times a week!! but i would just start after 6 weeks doing small weights on your legs so you dont strain but atleast your doing something and getting back in to it?
Id just mention it when you have to see the nurse again? x

You could always go and do light work on the treadmill and cross trainer? My boyfriends a PT and my op is tomorrow and I was stressing about it but he said as long as you don’t over do it light work doing cardio should be fine. I know its not the same as weights but you may feel better knowing you’ve exercised xx

@princess5 on my week 3 done leg and bum workouts. Not as heavy as usual just more reps to feel it 😉 definitely NO cardio since u dont want them to bounce up and down and cross trainer a big NO since it involves your arms too much. I would die without doing anything for 6 weeks. Happy healing ladies x

I think walking on a treadmill would be okay, as you have to keep relatively active afterwards they say. On cross trainers there’s a bar which you can hold instead of the bars which moves your arms, so that way it would just be your legs? I’ll be asking my nurse but after 6 weeks I think I’d feel like a whale, haha! xox

That’s what I meant Chelsea! Not running or jogging or using the arms on the crosstrainer, just really light cardio so you aren’t bouncing x

Hi babe I was 3 weeks post op yesterday & went to the gym.. I went on the bike, treadmill & cross trainer but didn’t use the arms & only walked on treadmill.
I started going for walks a few days after my op gradually going for longer & felt I was ready to do a little bit in the gym xx
