    Hey Ladies,

    I’m 7DPO today and I thought I’d let you know how it’s been for me, things I didn’t expect post op and to show you some pictures 🙂

    As always I’ll try and keep it short but informative. Any questions, just ask!

    You can also follow my recovery on Instagram but message me first so I know who you are 🙂 http://www.instagram.com/mya.ba.2016

    Before I start, I had 325 & 350cc round, HP, submuscular implants with Dr. Linda Fiumara at Fitzroy and have “severe” chest wall asymmetry.

    POD1-4 Summary:
    As the meds from the hospital were still in my system the first day was best, it got much worst as during my second nights sleep my upper back / shoulders seized as a result of the muscles trying to subconsciously accommodate the pain in my chest – ouch! I felt an improvement on the third day and by the fourth day my meds had been halved, I went out for 6hrs and did experience some discomfort but no pain.

    Each night I woke a couple of times due to pain but after taking pain relief I slept right through

    I’m off meds now and except for reduced mobility in my arms, bloating and tight shoulder muscles, I’m pretty much back to normal.

    Here are some things I didn’t expect during recovery:
    – Simple things like spitting out toothpaste is painful.
    – Loss of appetite. I was so undernourished as I just couldn’t eat much at all! I made a meal plan in advance which focused on protein foods and I bought plenty of vitamins which I took daily – see my other posts for more info.
    – Fainting. POD1 I had very low blood sugar and when getting out for bed for lunch I very nearly fainted.
    – Temporarily becoming the hunchback of Norte Dame. It was awful so make sure you have a hot water bottle to loosen the muscles. As hard as it may be to do, stretch you pectoral muscles from day 1 to help prevent this. If you have a good helper get them to massage your back as well or alternatively wedge a tennis ball between your back and a wall and move about to give yourself a mini massage. Haha.

    I’m now 7DPO and had my first check up today which went well. I’ve had new smaller dressings put on which I can change myself at 14DPO after my first shower. It’s not standard practice with my surgeon / nurse to shower before then.

    Hopefully my pictures from today have attached but if not take a look on my profile. My pictures can be viewed by all. I’ve still got a long way to go as my boobs are still very high, hard and an odd shape from front on.

    Xx

    So helpful Imogene, I’m on 1dpo with the same doctor as you and similar stats. Both 325cc under the muscle.
    It’s not too bad at the moment, just feels like my chest has been run over. Trying to keep up with my meds today, as I have anti sickness for coedine.
    Can’t wait to be 7dpo, hopefully the 4th day I am feeling better xx

    Hey Ladies,

    @alcee
    I’m glad you’re feeling okay. Did you end up with HP or mod plus in the end? Xx

    @charlottefiona29
    Thanks. Sure, I’ve sent you a request. Xx

    @murph
    Thank you 🙂 I’ve read a lot of girls complaining about the incisions itching after the dressings were taken off so I’m kind of happy mine were replaced as I could imagine that being irritating.
    The breast band is okay but it is digging into my armpits now so I’ve had to put tissue over the top to stop it hurting. Other than that it’s okay, it could feel worse. How are you feeling now at 22DPO? Xx

    @imogen I ended up with unders because my skin was too thin for overs and she was worried about rippling. I got 325cc moderate plus. Haven’t had a chance to have a sneaky peak yet. Xx

    Much much better at day 22! I have bought a m and s high impact sports bra, in a 34 e I am normally a 32 back but still wanted that bit of comfort…. I feel so much more supported in this than the macom. When I take my sports bra off they feel sooo weird like they are too heavy for my chest. I think this is due to my sensitivity returning…. literally so sensitive! I am able to do a lot more now and really really want to go back to the gym lol….. the breastband does get better and looser as the swelling goes down it sits better… keep checking em as u don’t want to push them too far down with the band I felt 4 weeks was too excessive for me mine have dropped loads so I am just wearing at night now for my final week… till Monday… it’s awful under clothes xx

    @murph I bought an M&S one as well but found it too tight at this stage but will probably buy one a bit later down the line.
    I’ve not experienced that feeling yet when taking my bra off but am I am still pretty numb from beneath the nipple on both breasts.
    I want to go back to the gym already and I’m only 9DPO! Bloating doesn’t help though as it looks like I’ve eaten a child and need to lose weight, haha.
    I kind of feel like the breast band would become more uncomfortable as the implants drop… not sure why I think that though.
    I’d be the same if I thought they’d settled enough. I don’t think not wearing it 24/7 towards the end would do any harm, but just delay the finished result if your implants weren’t fully dropped. Xx

    Yeh I would defo recommend watching for the drop! I will see and feel it start happening…. at that point don’t over use the breast band as it can make them sit too low… which I was worried about I lasted 3 weeks exactly with the band of hell. I have freed myself…. hahah if I wore it for 4 my boobs would be down by my knees I am happy to just let them do their stuff naturally now lol…. bloating is the worst…. It made me feel anything but sexy… things r normal again now tho… can’t wait to whip em out x

    @murph Thanks for the tips. I don’t feel like they’be dropped or anything yet and I’m 2WPO tomorrow, the implants have definitely settled from high under my muscle but my breasts still look the exact same as last week / a couple days PO.
    Bloating has almost gone! It was the worst thing ever!!
    I can’t wait to feel more normal, I’ve still got the smallest bit of aching in my shoulders and the tiniest bit of bloating and of course tight chest muscles but I’m almost there.
    Xx
