First, are you given the time of your operation, or the time you’re admitted to your room at the hospital? I’ve been told one by some people and another by others.

Second (and I know this is pretty unlikely, but I’m VERY unlucky!) what happened if for some reason, your train was delayed so long you missed your appointment? Do you lose money or do they just rearrange it? When I asked my PC this she just said “That’s never happened before” which leads me to think the worst! Are the trains booked well in advance of your appointment or is time pretty tight?

You get your admission time but not the time of your op. my admission time was 8am and I was back in my room op all done by 11am, and was allowed home at 2.30pm.
As for trains, I got a lift there but I believe if you’re late they will just move you down the list, I haven’t heard of an op being cancelled yet. Just try and get the the hospital for the admission time, if no trains get you there could you not stay in a hotel near the hospital the night before? xx

Hiya hunny don’t worry. I was not given an operation time just my admission time which was 8am and I was 3 hours late due to massive traffic which meant I went from being first on the operation list to last so I didn’t go into surgery until 6pm so don’t worry about it.
