You have to have your nails off and no nail varnish as they monitor the oxygen levels in your blood via the colour in your nails xx

U can still pick up a reading of the pulse oximeter, just sometimes it’s not as accurate with nails on, I always ask my patients to take just one nail off we don’t need all of them off, n then after ur BA just get that one nail re done, (I’m an A&E nurse btw) xx

Yeah I thought it was cos of the oxygen your nails go blue if there’s a problem, is it just for stats monitoring? Xx

Nail polish and fake nails are asked to be taken off, seen as it is a private surgery I would definitely take them off there is a possibility for even surgery being delayed or even postponed if at the hospital your surgeon and anesthesiologist feels the need to as not listening to what was being asked there are reasons for everything x
