My PC told me as I was a day case my admission time would be either 7 or 8 am… Just got it today and it’s 10am and it says that your op may not be for 6hours from admission time! Ive made arrangements for my childeren to be cared for on the Sunday night but not for the Monday as I thought we’d be back in time for my husband to collect them by 8pm! Now I’m going to need to try and make arrangements for the Monday night too!

Why do they have to be so sketchy with time slots! I think they overbook themselves!

I think the 6 hours is worst case scenario, my email said the same thing but I was in and out in 4 hours total. Xo

@chels I fully understand your frustration hun. I have read on here that they do not stick to admission times as much as we would like them to. I believe this is due to them being so in demand which in a way is a good sign but at the same time a little frustrating at times. You could be lucky and go down for surgery straight away but be prepared for the latter so you are not disappointed hun. Good luck 🙂 xx

I would allow for all day babe, reason being my admission time was 12, I didn’t leave till 9pm. I have a little boy so I completely feel for you I had to make massive arrangements too, but don’t add yourself another stress on the day worrying about getting home in time, last thing you need chick xxx

That’s true! Thanks ladies! My husband just said the same Jessica! I just hate putting on people but I’ll feel better and less stressed once I sort childcare for both nights I think! Xx

I know exactly how you feel! Had to ask favours from two people to have him overnight etc, it is a lot of arranging! But it’s a one off 🙂 you don’t have surgery every week and it’s not worth the added stress of having to keep to a schedule. For one day, you are allowed to not worry about the kids 😉 good luck hun xxx

Oww how annoying I bloody hate waiting and lateness and not knowing!

I’m definitely eating my breakfast at 6am before we hit the road!

Ah damn just saw this after replying, so sorry.. I kinda assumed it was an all day thing just in case.. make sure you book the car park in advance, I did with justpark.com. We’ll be ok, just make sure you bring some movies to watch, I really look forward to reading some book finally haha 😉 xx

My admission time was 9 and was in surgery by 10.30 yesterday so you may be fine although I didn’t leave the hospital until about 7ish as I had low blood pressure othewise the girl that had surgery before me left in the afternoon but she felt ok. I wouldn’t have wanted to rush any quicker. X

My admission time is 10am tomorrow. I don’t have children so haven’t had to make arrangements like you but I completely understand where you’re coming from. When you are a day case and they say your admission time will be 7-9 you kind of expect it. I’m just worried the parking will run out at the moment as I only booked till 8! Xx
