I’ve had some weird bruising since surgery last Thursday. Yesterday my tasral bone (the bit that sticks out on the inside of your foot) on my right foot swelled like a golfball and came out in dark purple bruising. I hadn’t damaged it. I don’t know how it could connect to BA surgery but it’s the only thing that I’ve ‘done’ that could have affected any of my body. Then yesterday, 5 days post op, I noticed a line of dark bruising running along the bottom of my strapping in such a way that it seemed to be caused by the strapping, and now today I’ve noticed all the bruising on my ‘love handles’. There’s no pain in this area, there never has been, but it looks like I’ve had an ass whooping. I’ve rung the emergency nurse to see if I can do anything with my strapping to help that area (I’m now 6 days post op) but she won’t let me, and it’s only since then that the other bruising’s come up and now no-one’s answering. The first time round the nurse said all that I could do is see if I can bring my first check up forward (from 9 days post op. ugh) to tomorrow, but I live an hour away and there’ll be no-one to drive me. Plus I HAVE to go to work anyway. But in any case, no-one’s answering the phone for me to see if it’s a possibility. Don’t know what the love handle bruising etc is about. Anyone else?? Thanks in advance xx (I’ve uploaded bruise pics)

And thanks, Kelbel. MYA have been really good, one if their forum moderators saw my post and arranged for another nurse to ring me. She was as helpful as she could be over the phone but said my issues sounded like they were being caused by the strapping and that I wouldn’t really get any relief until I have it taken off. On the downside, I HAVE to wait for a nurse to do it, but in the upside, I’ve managed to now get an appointment at the end of tomorrow as opposed to Saturday. Only 21.5 more hours to get through. Really worried about what she’s going to unearth when she takes the strapping away from my right incision, though :-/ xx
