    Hi girls,

I have two young children, 3 and 1yo. And although my hubby is off for 2 weeks after my op my children are very clingy to me. Some girls on here say they just can’t get up and stay in bed, have naps, not going anywhere etc. but for me this isn’t an option. I obviously wont be doing a normal day and will really try not to pick them up but I will be up and about making lunch, drinks, changing nappies etc as it will all need doing. Can someone with little ones reassure me it will be ok lol? I’m not scared of pain and had 2 kids with just paracetamol so feel like il be ok.

Hi Jen your two are the same ages as my two. My mum has had to book the week off work as it isn’t really an option for my self employed partner so I’m hoping I don’t need to rely on her too much. My op is a week on Saturday and I am just hoping I will be able to carry on as normal but my 16m old is such a chunk and I struggle picking him up anyway I have no idea how I’m going to manage haha x

I was back on my own with 4 kids youngest being 10 months at 4 days post op and was totally fine hun , I had to lift my son obvs as he can’t walk but I just made sure I bent right down and lifted him close to my chest rather that bend over and pick him up under his arms like I usually would !! Hiya… my children are the same age and I was fine. My partner had the first week off work but I was able to complete some of the daily duties, helping to make dinner, changing my youngest nappy etc. The only bit I found difficult was bath time, dressing them (they wiggle!) and cuddle time… my oldest was gentle as I explained I had an operation but obviously my youngest didn’t understand it. I made sure we had lots of dvd days and picnics on the rug etc so I felt like I was still doing my part.
Hope you have a speedy recovery when you have your op 🙂 xx

Thank you all so much. I already feel guilty spending so much money on me and feel very selfish, without having to leave other people to do my job with them. But I feel better knowing it will only hopefully last a few days before I get start getting back to reality. Thanks again xxxx
