Hi hun, I was told I could stop wearing sports bras by surgeon at 5 and a half weeks and flew at 6 weeks. My friend had her boob job then flew to Australia on week 4! She was fine x

I think its because the pressure in the cabin could split the scars if they’re not properly heeled x

Omg that’s not true about splitting the scars is it?? I thought it was all to do with GA side effects and blood clots?

    Hi girls

I was told 8 weeks for sports bra but I suppose every surgeon will tell you different. As for flying, the Only reason they tell you not to fly for a few weeks after surgery is because of the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) basically a blood clot, due to having an operation. It’s nothing to do with implants exploding /wounds opening/cabin pressure etc! These are all urban myths apparently

Anybody at any time if there immobile for a long period of time is at risk of DVT, but there are loads of factors like if your over weight , smoke etc makes you a higher risk. Have a nose at this http://www.preventdvt.org/health/dvt-and-your-health.aspx .

Like I said with flying its just because your sat down for a few hours that there may be a risk and that’s all it is. And also they don’t want you to be away so soon after surgery just because if there are any complications your nowhere near your surgeon . Hope this helps xxx
