    I’m now 6 weeks post op and I wanted to write a post about the after care I have received as I dont see too many posts about this and I think its such an important topic….

    Prior to me having my surgery one of the lovely ladies on here said to me ‘make sure you look after yourself after and rest a lot’…. I didn’t think much of it at the time but it is the most important bit of information I was given…

    I was so excited about actually having my boobs done that I didnt even think about after the op!! But please do think about it as its sooooooooooo important….
    – Take as much time off as you can from work – even if you just sit at a desk all day it can slow your healing process down
    – if you have children dont have your op in school holidays!!! Make sure someone is there for the kids on the first week after the op as you are going to need all the help you can get
    – rest, rest, rest…. dont even do the washing up!!! Its so important – even if you feel ok and look ok remember you body is healing inside as well and your will have internal bruising that you cannot even see that needs to heal

    Finally – Mya Nurses:
    Over the last 24 hours I have noticed some issues around my incisions which have worried me but my MYA nurse (Jessica) has been amazing…. she was answering my emails at 10.30pm last night and booked me in to see a nurse today… i could not believe it…. if I email her with concerns she gets straight back to me and I know she is there if I need anything….I cannot fault the aftercare I have received and really want to make everyone aware that the nurses are there for a reason, call/email/text them if your worried about anything…better to be safe than sorry 🙂

    Hope this helps ladies xxx

    Hey @kelly-doncaster
    How much time did you have off of work.
    I’ve booked 3 weeks? and its an office job too!… Have you spent most days sort of lounging about rather than laying? Very excited now! So glad to hear you had a good experience xxxx

    That’s a shame Vicky, I’ve had great service throughout….

    @adrianna92
    I took 10 days but needed at least 2/3 weeks and only started feeling 100% again after 4 weeks so I rthink you’ll be fine 🙂 I didnt spend anytime in bed I was just on the sofa everyday with my v pillow!!! xxxx

    I’ve just gone back to work after only having a week off. I work in an office and thought it would be fine but just pulling open fire doors is painful and today I am having pain in my right breast (being right handed I obviously use the muscles that side more). Really can’t take more time off though as work are already querying my week off as surgery was “elective”. Worried they might stop my pay for that week. They’ve asked for a doctors note even though for 5 days you don’t need one!

    I know u don’t realise how just opening a door takes so much effort!! Your work shouldn’t be doing that! But the doctors will happily provide you with sick nye as thy will have been informed of your surgery xxx

    I actually remember saying that to you kel and u said I’m more worried about the anaesthetic .This is good advice ladies as I rushed back to work and ended up with an infection and a small hole that has only just healed.Trouble is you feel great so u think you are fine to be active again but in truth I’m 9 weeks post op and I know there is still more healing to be done xxx
