Alcohol :-)

Hey girls just wondering how long after the operation can you not drink alcohol for? Is there a certain time you can’t drink for afterwards?

Also wondering this question prior to the op, its my friends 21st on the saturday and then my ops on the monday x

I’ve noticed a few on here have been told to not drink a few weeks before there op but I’ve not been told this. I’m having my op on Friday and I’m out for a few tonight. X

Yeah was told you can’t drink 2 weeks prior to the op but don’t know about afterwards?? Xxx

I was told not to drink two weeks prior to ba because of your blood thinning and two weeks after because of the antibiotics xx

Yup 2 weeks before as it thins the blood and at least 2 weeks after, due to drugs in your body, but ideally 6 weeks after as you’re still recovering. Think I’d have a few but not get trolleyed 🙂

I’m two days post op and was told not to drink two weeks before or after. ATM I’m so consumed with pain alcohol is the last thing on my mind. Thankfully having just had Christmas I’m not missing drinking at all. xx

That’s what I keep telling myself. My poor bf has to put up with my moaning for abit longer. Lol.
Gets me out of housework for a few was tho 🙂 xx

Hi Girls, You cant drink two weeks before and are told not to two weeks after –
I would have thought you will be fine to have a drink after you finish the antibiotics though, In moderation.
I drank 10 days after xx

Hi on the paper you get at pre op appointment it say 48hours before but nurses advise atleast two-week before surgery
My birthday was two weeks prior to my Surgery day I went away for a weekend two weeks before tho!! And drank two bottles champagne
No spirits and then detoxed after x

lol Claire, just tell him you’re not allowed to do anything for a month 😉 Longer for ironing 😉

Hiya, I had my op on the 20th dec and asked my surgeon if I would be able to have a drink on Xmas day, my last antibiotic was to be take in the morning on Xmas day. He said it would be fine, he laughed when I told him that I’d been told no alcohol for 6weeks and said its fine to drink when I feel like it. I suppose it all depends on how you feel in yourself. My recovery was fine xx

I was told two weeks before n two weeks after as alcohol thins your blood. So its better to be safe n not rrisk it xx
