alcohol the night before op???

Hi girls. My op is on monday & admission time is 8am at preston. Its my 30th on wed and my partner wants to take me out for a meal sunday night as i wont be up to it on wed & as we wont have the kiddies from sunday night either. Can I have a glass of wine with my meal?? Xx

Personally hun I wouldn’t, they tell you not to have alcohol two weeks before and two weeks after your op as alcohol thins the blood so may affect the procedure and healing, you may decide though that if its one glass it might not affect it…just depends on how wary you are I guess x

hi. i had a glass or two 2 nights before my op for my partners bday.i was fine.its personal choice i guess. x

Drinking even small amounts of alcohol before surgery could slow down your recovery and even weaken your immune system. You get told not to drink for a reason hun, I’m sure a safe healthy recovery is more important than a few drinks x

Thanks girls. Think ill give it a miss. Dont want to risk it. I rarely drink anyway just with it being my birthday meal was considering have a glass or 2. But its definitely not worth the risk xx
